Cruchyroll has put out its schedule of Blu-Ray releases for this May. Why should you still buy Blu-Rays? Because, for one thing, all the digital titles people owned under the Funimation label are now null and void. Those who bought the titles on disc don’t have problems like this.
You might think you can find the Crunchyroll app on everything, but there are still a few holes yet to be filled. As of this week there’s one hole less: Crunchyroll has successfully launched their app on Samsung’s Smart TV store.
Now that Spy x Family Code: White has opened in Japan, how long until we get it here? Not too long, according to Crunchyroll, who revealed today their global release plans for the feature film based on the hit Spy x Family TV series.
Solo Leveling started running on Crunchyroll January 6. It’s the first Japanese anime based on a Korean manhwa (their version of manga). Up to this point we knew nothing of any plans for an English dub, but Crunchy revealed all today.

It’s not often that Japan adapts an anime from a KOREAN comic, but that’s what’s happening with Solo Leveling, the series Crunchyroll has announced for its service next month. The anime is based on the hit manhwa (Korea’s term for manga) by author Chugong.
The next Crunchyroll Anime Awards will be held in Tokyo this coming March. The recipients of said awards will be chosen much like they were last year: over 100 figures from in and around the anime industry will choose nominees, and anime fans from around the world will vote on which ones win. The complete list of categories was revealed today, and it includes three new ones: Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography and Best Slice of Life.
