Publisher GAEA, developer Behaviour Interactive and television titan HBO are joining forces to bring to life one of TV’s most beloved properties! …..Okay, Game of Thrones kind of lost its shine with that polarizing final season, but maybe it’ll make for a swell mobile fantasy strategy game. Who knows.
You’ve been assigned to command the Night’s Watch. On the show, this is a job you commit to for life, but fortunately playing Game of Thrones: Beyond The Wall doesn’t require such a vow. You’ll be able to play fast and loose with canon by recruiting characters from all over the show’s six seasons, some of which never once visited the Wall on TV, let alone fought there.
- The Whispering Woods – Using the magic of the weirwood trees, players explore the past, present, and future of iconic characters such as Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Jaime Lannister, Melisandre, and Tormund Giantsbane.
- Master the Battlefield – As the new Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, players assemble their favorite characters from dozens of squad combinations to dominate hand-crafted battlefields in a classic grid combat system updated for mobile play.
- Command the Night’s Watch – Recruit characters from around the Known World to guard the realms of men across multiple game modes: crossbowmen from The Westerlands, scoundrels from King’s Landing, spearmen from Dorne, or exotic fighters from The Free Cities. Combine dozens of unique collectible heroes and recruits to exact unlimited battle strategies and dominate the land.
So far, over a million Apple users have pre-ordered the game. Doing so will grant you free stuff on launch. If the total grows, the number of prizes will as well, including 10 Carved Glyphs at 1.5 million preorders and the ability to unlock Jon Snow at launch at 2 million.
Game of Thrones: Beyond The Wall launches March 26 as an iPhone and iPad exclusive, though Android users will get it eventually.
