YouTube going HD in 3 months!?

It's about time. The picture quality on the current Youtube is subpar.

Case in point: Some NFL fans have put up the controversial last second feild goal attept in regulation in the Browns-Ravens game. With the way Youtube has right now, you couldn't see the ball hitting the upright and curved support beam when the field goal was attempted in real time. True, the instant replay did show the bounces, but it would be nice if you can see those in real time.

By doing this, They're basically forcing Users who have Slow Internet to Upgrade, which is stupid when considering Budgets people have.

Im on a Good 512k Connection ( Australians Internet is really crap, thanks to our Prime Minister whos doing nothing about it ), but most People I know/ People they Know are either on 512k OR 256k, Which is pretty damn slow compared to what other Countries have.

Mine is 384k. I hate watching on Veoh coz it takes forever to load the whole vid. If YouTube will be like Veoh, :shakefist

Mine's got banned to. The sad thing is, I have many vids there that's not copyrighted.

That's kinda fun. The HQ vid is nice. But when I started to watch the vid without it finished buffering, the vid suddenly stops. Does this happen to you?

Funny for them to call it HD. It's not HD, but is is HQ. :laugh:

If you select the high quality version, it usually just goes slower than usual, but I've only gotten new videos to work in HQ. All previous videos prior to the HQ feature don't work in HQ for me.

Every video I checked, the HQ one loaded faster than the lower one. The loading bar just went non-stop and finished in about 10 or so seconds, regardless of the length of the video.

Same here, mine lasted longer, just means they gotta work out the bugs. Youtube always seems to be experimenting. Good thing though, look at the outcome!
