Kamen Rider Meta
(Secretly, in my mind, I murder those guys who use Magneto/Storm in MvC2 and purposely screw with you to make themselves feel better but that's not what I mean
)
We play video games. We like video games. Sometimes we like video games too much. Sometimes we take a video game too far and our emotions take the better of us and we act like we're on the school playground again. Ever have one of those moments where the other guy/s was just....so annoying that you forgot that "it's just a game?"
I had one recently. Ugh, I did something so stupid today. Well stupid for me personally too.
You know that dancing game Pump It Up? I'm not crazy hot at it, but I'm better than the average player. But if there's one thing I hate, it's those guys that come and like act all crazy emotional and over-the-top and act like the game is their life and try to get super high records and stuff. So I resolved to only play the game for fun and maybe get a little better at it. Never for records. I never wanted to look as silly as those guys.
So, for some reason the machine had been restarted, and all the old records were erased. They all came back later, but there was this one song which nobody seemed to be able to beat again (It was one of those really long like 5 minute songs). So I foolishly tried to really, really beat it. I had been trying for a while. And just one day, I decide to be nice and let this friend I know play with me. Through the song, he gets tired and switches with one of those "game is for REAL" types I just mentioned. So what happens? I fail out, he beats it and gets the record I had been trying so hard to get.
Now, for a 20 year old like me (that looks like he's 17 *boastboast*) playing with high schoolers, the mature thing to do would be laugh it off, do a "you got me" and call it a day. I mean, it's just a game. But nooooo, something just snapped or something inside me and I just went all pissed off-face and was all "don't talk to me" and ignoring them. Now I realize I was so out of line there. I'm way better than that. I feel so dumb at myself now and I really feel like I need to apologize (to my friend. Not the other guy. He's kind of a jerk normally). It was just so immature of me.
