It's not that, it's just.... try to think of it this way. There's this cereal you really love, we'll call 'em Hungry Mungry O's or something. Man, you REALLY love 'dem Hungry Mungry O's! Then one day, you go to the store to pick up the 388th box of your beloved Mungry O's to discover that somebody has put "Super Duper Mega Hyper Over-Sweet Marshmallows With Bad Characters and Little Substance!" in them. You're thinking: 'wtf is this sappy crap invading my Mungry O's?!", but you try the box anyway and discover that their noticeably worse, but still edible. This is like Hurricanger/Abaranger. You can still watch it, but there's some **** in your proverbial Mungry O's that you're not really sure belongs there for you. So you eat these new and "improved" Mungry O's for a while and get used to some of the sappiness, when all of a sudden they completely overhaul the cereal into something with the same box but even with a new title! We'll call them... I dunno... Magiranger O's. You're an open-minded sunvubitch (or so your girlfriend tells you) so you decide to try a box, and you're really staying open about them while trying to keep your expectations low until the moment when you finally open the box and try a spoonful. And guess how they taste? Like ****! That's because Magiranger O's are made completely 100% out of pure monkey ****. So you're noteably pissed off and long for the days when Hungry Mungry O's were made with 97.6% action and awesomeness with a little cheese for flavor.

So I know you're thinking "I see your amazingly coherent analogy Bolt, but there seems to be another point lurking just below the surface. What is it?" Well you mongrels, it seems to be the trend today to either bash new-school everything (something people accuse Shougo of doing) or to make fun of people who enjoy something a little olderschool (when most of the time the insulters haven't even experienced anything pre-new millennium). What I'm saying is why can't we all just enjoy what we want to enjoy? Some people like Magiranger O's while I think they're little pieces of monkey feces. Some people (like myself) like Kikaida Cruchies because they're fun and taste great, while some people dislike them. It's people like this infamous renegade Vengeance that are dismembering a fandom that's supposed to be united, from the inside out. It's sick and it's sad and I think I might cry. :nono:

Way I see it, is that I shift gears on what I'm watching to get the best outta it.

I don't eat steak to enjoy the experience of sushi. And I don't eat bacon and eggs to enjoy cereal.

So, the enjoyment I get outta saaaaaay, GTO isn't the same I get outta reading Y' The Last Man.

Nor is my DekaRanger fun the same as I get outta GARO.

I see what you're saying, I just wonder... why can't we just shift gears. I enjoy my Hurricanger as much as I enjoy my Kikaider. Just different things that're good about it.

Why not see what good there is and the good that people enjoy instead of hating it for not being that other thing you like and having the qualities that you cherished in something else?
