Why so much explosions in PR?

I can't remember what episode it was, but on an episode of Rangercast, they mentioned that the explosions were to bypass S&P. And also, just because they can since they couldn't get away with it in LA's dry climate.

So when the Rangers do those random-ass poses before and during fights in front of needless explosions, it's because they're trying to hide hits to the face? :eyebrow: Really makes sense now. . . Not!

Very impressive, I almost didn't even make it half way through that mind-numbingly bad clip.

And yet it still doesn't explain what I'm talking about. Despite the fact that they have had to cover headshots with explosions doesn't change that they use a huge amount silly insert shots of PR doing poses in front of explosions. They use them when baddies die, when someone does a pose, when they role call, when someone goes into a stronger mode, and sometimes when they need to cover a shot they deem to violent for kids.

Most of time, it's just to make things have some pizazz. Half the time the explosions were in the original. So yeah, I never disagreed with you guys on some things. But most of the time it's just there for effect. There for the kids. That clip above proves more than anything, that this is a children's show. Ultraman and Kamen Rider have their dark sides, but PR and SS just have so much of these gratuitously corny explosions and glamour that it becomes silly. . .

I think that scene was pulled off much better in Boukenger. Also, is it just me, or do the role calls in the American counterparts seem really forced? I guess it's just because I'm still not used to the Power Rangers doing that.

I agree. Same goes for the CGI sparks in Dragon Knight. It just doesn't seem right.

I was thinking that during the Mark/Matt fight. They really brought down an otherwise awesome fight.

That's what I was saying--part of the reason they do them is because they couldn't get away with them in LA.

It's not about hiding a punch to the face. It's like this--they're not allowed to show somebody get hit in the face because that's too violent, but S&P has no problem with big loud fiery explosions. So you replace one form of violence with another. It happens all the time.

Don't you miss the days when PR would do the rolecall poses but have entire conversations with each other during them?

my god

that was horrible. how can youtube let that be made public

yeah I do believe I heard before

they can't land clear hits near the face

cause Mickey Mouse says so

but they can have the Jonas brother make little girls genies tickle, and when that happens they make big money

I will stick to Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. I'm glad they are bringing back MMPR

There's a sceen in RPM where Doctor K explains everything.

I'd post the vid if I could but I can't remember what it was called.
