Why people love Gokaiger but hates Kamen Rider Decade

Decade was badly written and had "fake" versions of the old Riders. Kuuga was relegated to being a sidekick.

Gokaiger was a lot of fun, despite not having much story or character development, there was a lot of excitement in each episode, especially when the old characters came back.

I agree with the expection of the first episode with Kiva's actor, the 2 part Black/RX episode and that one point near the end where Blades actor showed up, none of the original riders where in it.

Now you can say that they could have done more with the older actors in Gokaiger but at least they got their older actors to come back.

I don't have an issue of bringing back past characters, as long as they don't take the spotlight away from the current ones. Which is why Gokaigers kept them depowered until the very end. While some of the older Rangers got their powers back temporally, they didn't shove the Gokaigers to the side.

As for Decade, the fandom could never accept someone else as the Riders they know. Thus the hatred for the AR versions. The only exceptions were Den-O & Black/RX. However the last two episodes of Wizard found a way to have Haruto & his counterpart co-exist with each other.

Homie, just because two shows share a similar premise (or even a setting) doesn't mean that one is a rip-off of the other, especially when the shows are made by the same company.

For example, Kamen Rider Ryuki, Mirai Nikki, Fate/Zero and many more shows all share the premise of 'a cast of unique characters combat each other for a higher power,' but despite occasional similarities the three all manage to retain their own identity.

Gokaiger was arguably successful BECAUSE it took inspiration from parts of Decade- namely, the good parts. Without Decade leading as a first trial Gokaiger might have been a lot messier in execution.

Simply having their powers isn't going to overshadow the current team. It all depends on how they're written.

And that's the fandom's fault? It makes no sense that the Hibiki and Den-O casts could be scrounged up but virtually none of the casts of the other shows. It was just a mess of a production from the looks of it.

If Decade and brought back casts and characters a la Moebius and Gokaiger, but did an AR setup caused by the fusing of the Worlds from DaiShocker's actions, while still maintaining the general feel of those shows, I think people would have accepted it much more readily. Not "take one aspect of a show and make the AR revolve completely around that". Like the Ryuki World. How stupid that was :redface2:

Gokaiger
- There was a main enemy through the whole show.
- The main characters had growth (at least some of them).
- Old teams and their stories were kept intact.
- Lots of old actors returning.
- Main plot and subplots were resolved by the end.

Decade
- A "main enemy" was created only to showcase the movie.
- The show was supposed to be a 10th anniversary for the Heisei Riders, but ended up as one big toy commercial for the whole franchise.
- None of the main characters had growth, and if they did, they would forget about it in the next episode.
- The writers clearly cared more for the action than the story, which meant that every plot was made to set up Rider vs Rider fights.
- Almost no old actors returned.
- The stories of the previous Riders were completely forgotten.
- They end the show, promising us a conclusion in a "fake" trailer for a movie, which ended up being yet another hour-long toy commercial, which didn't resolve ANYTHING related to the show.

So basically, Decade was Hibiki v 2.0.
We got a plot, which was changed completely halfway through the show, leading us to a conclusion that was ALSO changed.

I know I'm going to get flak for this, but I like Decade's retelling of the predecessors more than the predecessors themselves. In Decade each story from each rider world was easy to follow, had very little drama, had more action per episode than said predecessors, and cut out bad comedy when it could (thus keeping tones that were actually consistent). I actually find Decade better than the other previous heisei riders because they cut out so much fat. As for the stories with Amazon and Black/RX, yeah, they kind of sunk. Hell, I thought they sunk after the negative world episodes with the Sentai crossover.

Many fans felt that Decade lost track after the Shinkenger episodes. It was mostly after they traveled through the 9 AR worlds that where do you go from there.
