Why I hate 3-D(And you should too)

The only reasonable complaint I see is the one about the inflated ticket prices but odds are once it becomes more mainstream, the prices will average out.

Everything else is just the growing pains of an advancing technology. There's bound to be imperfections. That doesn't mean they should give up on it. With that reasoning we'd still be in the stone age.

I read both articles and didn't see where they addressed my question. The "color" article discusses the ways in which color is used in film as an artistic technique, the "sound" article covers the initial difficulties in filming for sound, but doesn't mention any active rejection of them by segments of the audience. (If there's a part of the articles I've overlooked, please clarify.)

Both articles do highlight the ways in which those new technologies changed how creators make films, but to me that just strengthens my sketpicism of 3D. If 3D were really "a new way of making film", why is it so easy for them to release a film in 3D and 2D "versions"? They couldn't/wouldn't have done that in the early sound and color eras because of the fundamental difference of the mediums.

So if 3D is so integral to the process of a film like Avatar, why did the studio bother to release a 2D version at all?

In other words, you have no clue what the difference is. If you actually like, watch the behind the scenes of Avatar, you'll realize it's more than a 'slight upgrade.' It's a new way of filmmaking.

No in other words I don't care. 3d has been around for years, this is just a more advanced 3d. If you like it great, but don't get all pissy when some people don't.

Thing is those became more commonplace and unobtrusive to any film and can be enjoyed at home mostly. As of now it is used primarily for specific live-action movies, would it be beneficial to use it for a average drama or comedy?

As of now it's more of an in-theater thing much like "performers in the audience" which went out.
I'm thinking as soon as it becomes affordable to make a film like Avatar, everyone's going to take advantage of the 3D camera technology. Everyone. Why? Well, because they can. Nothing in moderation for Hollywood. Plus, considering how hard they're pushing these 3DTV's, they gonna force it in our homes, whether we knew we wanted it or not.

3D is just very over-rated. Plus those damn glasses are never comfortable.
What's uncomfortable about wearing sunglasses for 2 hours?

No in other words I don't care.
Nahh, i'll keep you down for doesn't get it.
