Why do some PR fans hate Phone like morphers?

I'm not sure if someone made a thread about this kinda topic. If there is, show the existing thread

I just thought of something when it comes to phone like morphers in Sentai/PR.

I know that there are some fans out there that likes or don't mind phone morphers and others that hates them for a reason. I don't mind them though.

To those who don't like phone like morphers, is there a reason why some of you guys hate them?

I love the phone-like morphers, they took secret identity to a whole new level. Plus it gives out a great concept and quality to cosplay and to the toy version. Also it doesn't make certain Sentai Heroes/Power Rangers look like a bunch of goofs walking around everday with a silly-looking bracelet. Don't get me wrong!!!! I love the Henshin braces, but the Phone-like Henshin devices/morphers are cool as well.

I don't mind them at all, but people have told me that they hate phone morphers because now just about every toku show uses phone morphers, and the concept is groing kinda stale.

That's the reason I've heard. As for me liking them, I don't mind.

They're not... dramatique enough. Punching in a phone number is NOT my idea of an heroic transformation. I could tolerate the Accellular because of the wheel but the rest? Bleh.

The worse offender is MagiShine/Solaris Knight's grip phone thingie. He has to punch the ticket?! Gah.

you could also say the liscences from Deka/SPD are similar to cell phones.

Personally I like the simplicity of a small, streamlined, wrist mounted henshin device. Nothing too fancy, just call something and press a button. My favorite ones have to be the Lightspeed Rescue and Time Force morphers. The ninja storm ones looked pretty neat from what little I saw and the Dino Thunder Dino Brace have the advantages of dissapearing into a normal looking bracelet when not in use.

The new Go Shifter for black and green in Gouonranger looks cool, but the Go Phone? LAZY ugly design.

i own a PRWF morpher so i dont mind them at all. i wouldnt mind a Wolzord morpher.

I don't like them because they just don't look like Phones.

With the advent and popularity of Cell phones (especially in the US), people are more familiar with cell phone design now, then they were even five years ago. And the Sentai cell phones don't fool anyone, they just really, really bad compared to even the cheapest real cell phones.

Wrist Morphers I liked better but that's just me.

The only reason I don't really care for them is that they've become so prevalent. Hand-held morphers in general don't bother me...but too many phones isn't fun.
