Where I Watch Dengeki Sentai Changeman Episode 4 A Kiss After The Fight
The opening bars of "Gecchu Love Love can be heard from Nagisa's phone. She checks the message.
Nagisa: "Honoka, Hikari! Message from Inori! 'Motorcycle Zakenna at fairgrounds.'"
Honoka: "I got the message. Let's head out!"
Hikari: "Understood."
The three Max Heart girls leave to fight, leaving Erika and her fairy partner Coffret alone to watch the episode.
Erika: "I guess it's just us watching. You've seen this, haven't you, Coffret?"
Coffret: "Bits and pieces when I couldn't get away. We're not going anywhere for awhile are we?"
Erika smiles wickedly.
Coffret: "I guess not. In that case, let me say something about the intro. It has nothing to recommend it, and compared to other super sentai themes, it's ultimately forgettable."
Erika: 'Remind me again, why do I keep you around?"
Coffret: "Because you can't transform without me. "
Erika grumbles under her breath
Coffret: "I see the others weren't kidding about the monsters being terrifying. Even the Deserterians have the sense to be vaguely humanoid. No! Put that cat down! What are you doing to that cat? No cat deserves that!"
Erika: "It just turned the cat into a human."
Coffret: "You say 'Just' I say 'AAAAAHHH!' All right, moving along. Hayate is meeting with the girl who lost her cat to the monster, and gets suckered into looking for it."
Erika: "I think it's a decent thing to do..."
Several minutes of increasing weirdness pass. Then Milk/Mimino Kurumi speaks up from behind Erika.
Milk: " Coffret, why is she making you watch this? I've just come in, and I've seen a grown man who wants the kisses of little girls, a monster with breasts for a head, and a woman that speaks with a man's voice."
Coffret: "It gets worse, Milk! We're only four episodes into this madness!"
Milk: "Get out while you still can, Coffret!"
Erika: "Will you two knock it off? The Changeman team's about to kick some monster butt!"
Coffret: "Hold it! Did Seema just say that she was raised on the monster's milk? Is Seema a catperson?"
Erika: "Don't ask questions! Just watch the fighting!"
Coffret and Milk stare at Erika.
Milk: "I think we just found out why she watches this. Well, let's see this fight...It looks like the editor fell asleep. Change Dragon attacks a monster, fails to connect, and we cut to him attacking another monster and failing to connect. Well, he finally managed to hit someone."
Erika is on the edge of her seat watching the fight and subsequent scenes upon the Gozmaad. A yellow flag hits the screen.
Erika: "What was that for?"
Coffret: "I'm calling foul on this show. 'Her milk turns creatures human-like.' The only one aboard Gozmaad who looks human is Seema. And how does turning stray animals into humans even constitute an evil plan? If you're doing it one stray at a time, or even four or five, it's going to take you hundreds of years to create enough that they can supplant humans. And even as the explanation says, you're dealing with only a few catpeople attacking other humans."
Erika: "But the...fights, with the punching and kicking..."
Coffret: "The fights were better in the previous episodes. But at least here I agree with Hayate. He is a failure. And with anyone of these catpeople hiding in plain sight, Sayaka comes up with an idea that the monster's going after dogs next. No let's skip ahead a bit. Hayate gets beat up by the weredogs, and nearly forced to drink the milk. He busts free and starts fighting. he gets in a funk because he can't kill these creatures of the earth and they corner him."
Milk: "So Hayate was bait. Doesn't make it any better. The Changeman team transforms again, use their bazooka again and the monster dies. And here comes Gyodai. Why don't they shoot him?"
Coffret: "I wish they would. Without someone to make their monsters bigger, Gozma's got nothing. So, Changerobo fight and why do they wait so long to use the shield that reflects energy attack back? Are they just trying to make the monster feel like it accomplished something. At least the Changeman team got the same idea we did about Seema being something different."
Milk: "This episode was vile. I hope whoever was responsible for this mess was fired. From a cannon."
Erika: "How can you hate Changeman?"
Milk: "You're not giving us many reasons to like it. But I'll stick around in the hopes that something about this gets better."
