What's your favorite series form style?

And by that I mean, do you prefer having a series where the main Rider gets a boat load of forms (Kuuga, Agito, Den-O, Kiva, Decade) that may or may not be used effectively or series where the Rider gets an intermediate form and/or the final form?

I prefer the series that are lower on forms, just because there aren't any wasted suits and I've always liked the idea of having a form before the yearly final form that spices things up a bit in the middle of the series.

I really do prefer a series that is low on forms myself. Even no forms. 90% of the time I will prefer the heroes standard look to whatever else he gets anyway. When it ain't broke don't fix it.

Yet the irony to all that is that one of my all time favorite shows in tokusatsu is one where a guy gets the most forms of anybody ever. But to me Kuuga made that **** work for two reasons.

1. Every single form felt very organic to the story at hand rather than being from a Bandai memo and had a clear function and point.

2. All his forms look great. (until they broke the streak with that Liefeldian Rising Ultimate BS in Decade) Partly, because no matter what form he's in he STILL LOOKS LIKE KUUGA!

It depends, if the suit is alright, the forms are okay and there aren't too many riders (Kuuga, Agito, Den-O), then I'm all for it. A small number of forms isn't bad either but if the suit is a pain too look at (Ryuki, Blade, Decade or in Kiva's case, overusing a gaudy looking form) we have a problem.

the lesser, the better. it's more annoying when the Rider doesn't want to use his standard form anymore. (*cough*Kiva*cough*) :redface2:

What I like is the 2-3 forms and even the 2 forms only that Decade gave us. Looks like we shall be getting another Kuuga form style with Double though.

With Double based on what we have seen I think it may be alright because the integrity of his basic design which I happen to enjoy is kept intract even with the changes are in color and other touches. The design still works and he still looks like Double. He's not loaded down with kibble or spikes or whatever.

Faiz was a pretty good example to. I still prefer his main suit over Accel or Blaster but they still keep much of what looks good about the main suit.

Same here.

I'd prefer if the Rider only has One form, and fought solo against really powerful villains. That's something that would be refreshing to see in a Heisei series.

Why?

Because instead of relying on power-ups (suggested by Bandai), The hero would have to rely on skill and Cunning to defeat enemies.

As for the Rising Ultimate crap...I totally agree with mattcomics-kun. I mean...isn't Ultimate form supposed to be the be-all, end-everything form for Kuuga? Why does there have to be another step above it? :shakefist

Well exactly. In addition to just ruining what I think is an excellent design it doesn't even make sense conceptually for Kuuga. Maybe they somehow felt it neccessary to give a form that was unqiue to Yuuke's Kuuga but still it's just needless.

I guess because for some Ultimate Kuuga just wasn't OMGtehepicbadasss enough so it needed to be turned into a jagged shitpile holdover from 1993's eXtreme Studios. Next he'll team up with Badrock, Crossblood, and DieDeath or what the hell ever.
