What's the best Showa Rider series to start with?

I say go with the first show, Kamen Rider, and then work your way towards the other Showa shows in order. I've seen too many people say how hard it is to get into the earlier shows when they've seen the more recent ones. It can be hard when you're use to a certain level of quality. If you start from the beginning, then it feels like the shows are only getting better with each title.
But then again, I always give the same advice. Start from the beginning, and go in chronological order. It's hard for me to pick a show and label it as "the best". I don't exactly do favorites.

The problem is not all of the original series has been subbed. In fact, not even half of it is out yet and at the rate KIT goes, we could see it out by Shout! Factory before they even reach episode 60 (no offense towards KIT).

The original series meaning Kamen Rider, or you mean Stronger and Amazon and the later seasons?

He probably means Kamen Rider, that's the only one to even have 60 episodes.

If it was subbed, I would say X is a fantastic starting place. It gives you a lot of the Showa trademarks but it's also one of the first Rider shows to hint at ongoing plots. (Stronger is also a great show but probably better once you've seen the four before it)

Even if the original series is not fully subbed, there is still enough episodes to watch and decide if it's for you or not. I think that's the case for just about all the showa series that aren't fully subbed yet.

Shout Factory hasn't even shown interest in Kamen Rider yet, so waiting on them would be pretty hopeless right now. It could happen, but but right now, they have no reason to. Even if they did, they'd have more reason to pick up something like Black RX, which got an adaption in America that we're all familiar with.

I say start with the original show and watch what you can of it. Then, move on to whatever other series looks good to you.

Yeah, but I'm a completionist. I don't like starting a series if I can't finish it in a timely manner. That's kind of why I stopped watching the original series after the first 20 episodes. I realized KIT is going to take decades to finish the show (and that is not meant to be an offense towards them), so I might as well wait until they have up to 90 or so episodes subbed before I continue the show.

Save Skyrider for last, it is the best of the showa era, that is all. Also Stronger is much better if you watch the previous four series first, it gives more finality to an era. Amazon would be fine for beginners since it is short and action packed.

I wouldn't recommend starting with Skyrider, though my reason being that I didn't like it. But I can agree that Stronger is best when you've seen most of the shows before it.
