He just stated how he felt about it. I watch TVN too mostly when I have the ability to download torrents. Yes they have their flaws but so do all sub groups, no one is perfect. They have been around for quite awhile and their quality has never let me down. I have taken Japanese and learned the language, and there are some words that can be translated differently but the meaning is the same. I have learned Japanese from TVN and actually helped me when I learned the language fully.

It isn't about words that can be translated differently. It is about NOT translating words at all when there are many ways to translate them. "tachi" and "mou" are prime examples. And to myself and many others that most certainly is not quality.

Sorry if I'm being rude, but you're being stupid for saying such thing. You're wasting your bandwitdth with a low quality reencode, that's the purpose of streamings websites.
Any kind of streaming website reencodes the original uploaded file to worst quality just to help those who doesn't have great internet speed (for me, that's the main purpose for streaming websites), and I bet that most of you guys have great internet connection.
I live in Brazil, I have a shitty internet conn and I decided to don't waste my dear bandwidth to watch shitty streamings (even the 720p/1080p ones from Youtube are shitty!), so I prefer download a good encode from a good fansub and I'm fine with it.
Also, watching streamed fansubbed video is really retarted, you're not having the "full experience" that fansub gives you, it's just silly imagine that, even being "TV-N" :laugh:

While I understand that streaming content is something of a choice for those in geographical areas with less-than-ideal internet, your comments pointing out such issues fall on ears that have never even considered such things AS issues.
Like KingWilly remarked earlier, that film that was up on Youtube got MILLIONS of views before being taken down. The traffic to streaming sites, whether it's an inferior encode or not, is MASSIVE. To those ignorant or uncaring of video quality, the 1080p setting on Youtube looks clear as crystal.
Frankly...some people really can't tell the difference. Like our own Toku Prime that spoke up earlier. And besides, it's not stupid for me to claim it is easier to click a play button than to download a number of things. All discussion of encoding aside, ease of use is ease of use.
Though Glamador is curious as to what "full experience" you refer to? There are....little words at the bottom of the screen whether you stream or download....isn't there? Do I need to buy special glasses to see the hidden messages?

What I'm trying to say is: a fansub waste it's time to encode a video in order to give a good quality video for their audience, but in the end, people throw their files on streaming websites that literally destroy their job and makes people watching from there... ┐(￣ー￣)┌

For some people, TV-N was their introduction to japanese tokusatsu shows, so they may want to stick to familiarity. Some like the fancy stuff they do with the fonts and effects. Others like the way they fansub(though some parts like the ~tachi annoy me ).
It's good that there are now several different reliable groups that offer various styles of fansubs such that people can choose the ones they like. Especially since this is a smaller community than the anime community
In 05/06 when I first got into this toku fandom, TV-N was probably the only mainstream sub group.
I don't really follow any group now though I sometimes watch subs if there's something I didn't understand while watching the raw.
I'm still kinda wary of using torrents again since that odex scare here a few years ago. DDLs take a while, especially if the file is large. Plus, that megaupload shutdown some time back...
So nowadays, I only dl things I really wanna keep and will likely re-watch. Otherwise, I watch via streaming.
