Kamen Rider Meteor
Better late than never, hopefully. And I'm totally gonna read that later, Z. Well here's my Meteor character. WAY longer than I intended it to be, and took longer to type, kept hitting blocks. Enjoy! :anime:
Name: Zachary Tsurugi
Age:16
Nationality: Half-Japanese-American
Appearance: skinny to the point of almost svelt, black, somewhat messy hair, prefers to dress in khakis and sweaters. Wears a dark blue scarf knitted by his mother
Alternate Identity: Kamen Rider Meteor
History: Zach's fatehr left them when he was very young, though everyone assumes that he was far too young to remember or be affected by this, it seems like ever since then, he became more quiet and distant, and he's been like that all through into his teens. In school, he gets phenomenal grades and perfect attendance, but his true passion wasn't until after school, when he gets to do Jeet Kun Do. It was the only other thing that he showed any real emotion, so it made his mother happy. Well, there was one other thing, but he wouldn't tell anyone.
Zach was closing up his locker and when he looked across the hall, and right on time with her best friend flanking her was Rose DeLanoa. Quite easily the prettiest girl in school. But not just pretty, oh no. If she was, Zach wouldn't be interested. She was also one of the smartest students in school as well, one of the few who came close to matching his scores. She was the only one human in this world that he tolerated. Everyone else? Everyone one else was too ignorant, too selfish, to narrow-minded. They disgusted him. But Rose, she was a diamond in the rough. His train of thought was interrupted by the usual banter of someone else that also annoyed him.
"Dude, why don't you ask her out?" His name was Kevin Reed, the self-proclaimed best 'best friend' ever since Zach was asked to tutor him a few months ago. The tutoring was done, but Kevin wouldn't go away. "You've been staring at her forever, you need to work up some guts and just ask her!"
Zach rolled his eyes. "Don't you have anyting else better to do, like stuffing pasta in your mouth?"
Kevin knew it was an insult. He just shrugged them off since he knew how Zach was, and just twisted them around, "Mmmm, I loves me some pasta!" He joked, rubbing his belly. Zach let out a dejected sigh. It was true, though, he did love pasta. So much so he makes his own. He forced Zach to try some and he was chagrinned to admit that it was quite good.
Rose walked by, letting a sincere smile light up her face. "Hi Zach, hi Kevin!" she said, waving. They've known each other for some time, ever since they both competed in a scholastic competition. He won, but Rose was too good-natured to hold a grudge. You can probably say that's when it started for Zach.
That's when he heard the gutteral sound of something he hated more than anything else. "You don't honestly think you stand a chance, do you?" It was Dana Wax, the typical school bully. The only reason Zach hasn't floored him is because Dana saw what Zach did to the last guy that tried to beat him up, so he keeps his distance, keeping his abuse verbal. "That is a high class lady." he continued, "She's way out of your league."
Zach didn't miss a beat. "I suppose he's more interested in a bottom feeder like you?" He saw Dana get upset. Either because of what he said, or because he didn't know what a bottom-feeder is.
"Just stay out of my way!" Dana said as he stormed off.
"Dude, you got guts." Kevin said. Zach just ignored him. One thing remained true. Something was holding him back from asking her out. Was it fear? Or was it something more?
That night was an intense training class of Jeet Kun Do. He had been progressing quite well, and his master decided to step up his training with some of the more senior students. Surrounded by three of them, he was ready for the first charge. He blocked a haymaker, and responded with a WAHTAAAH! as he struck his assailant in the stomach. A kick came in from his right before he could land another blow, but he quickly ducked back and did a sweeping kick, knocking down his second opponent, and following up with a hammer strike along with an AGHTAH! A straight punch came from his left, but a quick back step allowed it to whiff by. He grabbed the arm, pulled it downward and followed up with a punch of his own.
As his three opponents got back on there feet and repositioned themselves, Master Thomas raised his hand. They all stopped and got in line, "Very good, everyone. Zach, you are progressing exceptionally. Keep this up and you might be teaching your own classes." Zach simply bowed, trying not to smile, thoughhe did like the compliment. "Alright, that's it for today. Again, excellent work." They bowed to their master, then gathered their stuff to leave.
Dennis Reed, the top student in the class and older brother to Kevin came up to Zach. "Hey Zach, we're heading out for pizza, you wanna join?"
"No thanks," Zach said. He didn't hate his fellows students like he did everyone else that was around him. They had a passion for the same martial arts that he did, but he just wasn't the 'hanging out' type.
"Come on, it'll be fun!" Dennis insisted. "You train hard everyday you come in here, it's time to reward yourself. I'm paying. You can't argue with that."
Zach wanted to, but something was telling him Dennis was right, while something else, something he wasn't quite sure of where it might have come from, was telling Zach that Dennis wasn't right, that he should be turned down, that he should be kept underthumb. Kept underthumb? Zach shook the weird thought from his head. "Alright, I'll go." He struggled to get the words out.
Zach wasn't surprised to see Dennis' younger brother waiting there at the pizza parlor for them. Even less so to find out it was his idea. But he decided to make the most of it. He didn't speak much at all, mostly just remained a witness to revelry happening around him. The pizza wasn't bad though, so that was something at least. The night went by rather quickly, and it was time for them all to get back to their respective homes. It was a saturday night, but that doesn't mean they can stay up that late. Besides, Zach was starting to chuckle at Kevin's bad jokes, so it must be late.
They laughed as they walked down the street, until they heard a shriek. They ran to see none other than Rose being harrassed by none other than Dana. She had turned down his advances, and he wasn't very appreciative of that. He had her cornered in the alleyway with the rest of his thugs.
"I told you to get away from me!" Rose yelled, holding up her arms in futile defense.
"And I told you; nobody disrespects Dana Wax! NOBODY!!"
"Get away from her!" Zach yelled. His friends were surprised to see such rage- let alone any emotion- come from him.
Dana's wasn't scared this time. He knew full well his poor excuse for a street crew wouldn't stand a chance. That's why he had a backup plan; in the form of a switch-knife. "You want to start trouble?" he said with a sneer, "Go ahead, but you might want to be careful." He was pointing the knife at Rose, "Someone could get hurt."
"You're a coward!" yelled Zach, to which Dana didn't care. He had his hostage. And he was ready to hurt her. Such cruelty. Why? And always, ALWAYS with the humans. WHY?! They are the only creatures in the planet that kill each other for nothing more than greed and power. Tossing away life as if it were a worthless trinket. They don't deserve to live! They have no right to live!
Dennis and the rest were busy squaring off with Dana's street thugs to notice what was happening to Zach. Pitch-black miasma began eminating from his body. Ironicallt, it was Dana that noticed first, and let out a surprisingly high shriek. Everyone stopped and turned to see what they thoguth was Zach, only to see something... manifest. It looked like a ghost of some kind, but as it left his body, it began to gain a solid body. It stood upright like a human, but in fact was freakish twist of two animals. It looked like a scorpion and a reptile had been mashed and twisted together. Zach spoke in a demonic voice as the monster advanced. "None of you... None of you deserve to live..."
The thugs ran while Dana fell to ground in total fear. The manifestation was fixated on him. Being the virtuous types, Dennis and the others moved to attack the creature. They were no match, being tossed around and slamming against the walls of the surrounding alley. It grabbed Dana by the throat, a situation to dire for anyone to notice he wet himself.
Everyone struggled desparately yo get thie manifestation off. An effort in futility. They should be worrying about themselves. They would be next. And it wouldn't stop there. ALL HUMANS-
"ZACH, STOOOOOOOOOP!!!" Zach blinked and shook his head, like he was in some sort of trance. He blinked and looked on in genuine surprise as Rose was trying to pull the monster off of Dana as well.
Zach spoke, but found that his throat hurt. "R..Rose? What are you doing? He... he deserves it..."
"It doesn't matter what he deserves!" Rose yelled. She was thrown to the side, along with the others, but it didn't stop her from trying to get through to Zach. She grunted as she grabbed her arm. It was injured, but who knows how badly. "You are better than this! And it's not because of how smart you are, or how good you are at things!"
"She's right!" Kevin said, grabbing the twisted creature by the waist. It released Dana so he could elbow Kevin in the back. He fell instantly, but was still conscious. "You... are a totally awesome guy... You think I'd keep hanging around you... if I believed you were the jerk you portray yourself... to be?"
Dennis and the other students slammed into the monster before it could stomp on Kevin's head, though it barely seemed phased. "He's right, Zach!" said Dennis, "I see your passion and fire every time we train together!" The monster shrugged them off quite easily, but Dennis didn't stop. He was back up, striking at the creature with what would normally be very brutal blows. "The man behind those punches and kicks I see in every class; that's the real Zach! Not the one that everyone thinks you are, and possibly maybe not the way you think of yourself, but it's what I see!" A nice right hook sent Dennis reeling.
"That's what we all see!"Kevin said with a smile, and then turned to the monster, "Get away from my brother!" He jumped in front of his brother. The others joined him, along with Rose.
Why? This isn't what humans... This isn't... Different thoughts triggered in Zach's head, like two separate people arguing with each other. This is wrong! They are brave and true friends! They are human, they are worthless! They sacrifice themselves for each other. They sacrifice each other for themselves! Life. DEATH!!! Zach grabbed his head in pain. He felt daggers in his mind and heart. Why was all this happening? HOW was it happening? It seemed like an eternity what was only a mere moment as the monster was ready to strike with what appeared to be a scorpion's stinger. He knew what he had to do.
Rose closed her eyes as and waited for the inevitable. She heard the sound of flesh being ripped, but felt nothing. She opened her eyes and looked on in horror along with the others. Zach jumped in front, and was impaled in the chest, clear through the back. "I... I'm sorry... everyone..." he said, blood coming from his mouth, "I guess... I was just running away... letting something else decide who I was... I'm sorry..." He lost consciousness.
When he came to, he was laying on a non-existant floor, surrounded by light. It was warm and beautiful. "Where am I? What happened?"
"Finally awake, are we?" Zach turned to see none other than his childhood hero, Bruce Lee!
"Bruce Lee! But you're... dead? Oh, god I'm dead..."
"Not quite," Bruce replied, "You're not dead, and I'm not really Bruce Lee. This is just a representation presented by your subconscious. Interesting secrets back here."
Zach worked quickly to change the subject, "So what am I doing here?"
"You're here to answer a calling." Bruce responded. "One only for you. I guess you can say it's your destiny." He smiled as he pulled out a strange device and presented it to Zach.
"Destiny? What are you talking about?" Zack responded, "Look you got the wrong guy, I'm just someone..." he let out a deep sigh." someone who got his friends killed..."
"Friends? That's not a word you've used before."
"And that was my mistake. If I could go back and make it alright... stop this from happening... stop them from dying."
Bruce gave him an amusingly puzzled face, "Dead? Who said they were dead?"
Zach was genuinely confuse, "But-but I thought-"
"You thought before you asked. This is all happening... I suppose you could say outside of reality. Time is relative," Bruce grabbed Zach's hand and put the strange device in it, "but if you want to make a difference, you must decide now. Do you want to save your friends?"
"I do." Zach said, with more determination than he ever had for anything else before.
"Then put on the Meteor Driver! It will give you the power you need!"
Zach wasn't sure what to do, but when he placed it near his waist, a belt shot around him at it fastened itself. Bruce smiled. "Now... transform." He tossed him a smaller device that looked like it went into a socket on the driver.
Zach placed the it within and cocked the driver. "Meteor! Ready?" it said, an upbeat melody playing as it waited for the next command. He slowly moved his arms around in front of him, forming a circle, just like Bruce did on one of his movies
"Henshin!" He hit the tigger, and a new song chimed as he was engulfed in a blue, spherical light. He was back in the real world, the pure blue light pushing back the monster. The light diminished, and Zach emerged in a dazzling costume, black with what looked like stars shining in the night sky, and a blue streaking from waist to alternate shoulder, and his helmet looked like a shooting star. He rubbed his nose with his thumb. "I will control my own fate."
His friends stood in literal shock and awe with what they saw before them. Kevin was the first to deduce what it was. "... Zach?"
Zach didn't look back, only said, "Stay back, I'll handle this." He crouched into a combative stance. The monster charged with a growl and struck wildly. Zach merely fainted back and struck back with a straight punch. "Waahtah!" He yelled as he pushed back the monster.
It let out another gutteral yell as it tried again with another swipe. Zach ducked and connected with a flurry of punches to the abdomen, and only stepped back for a spin-kick. They traded blows with Zach having the advantage. He took advantage of an opening and lined up his open hand right on the monster's chest. With lightning speed, he clenched it into a fist, only to strike a few inches forward, but that was enough force to cause a small explosion to send the monster fluing back even further.
That's when Zach noticed the device on his hand. He clicked one of the switches upwards. "Mars, ready!" said the belt. He then pressed a larger button. "OK! Mars!" His arm became engulfed in a red ball that looked like the planet mars. Zach smiled under his helmet.
The monster didn't have much time to attack before it was struck by the planet. But there was more. Zach pressed another button. "Saturn, ready! OK! Saturn!" This time he was able to swing it and unleashed razor sharp rings that sliced through the monster. It was time to end it.
He hit the switch attached to the driver. Meteor on!" said the device, "Ready?" then spun the orb in the center of his belt which began emitting a beautiful light show. "Meteor! Limit Break!" he jumped in the air as he was covered in a blue aura, looking like a meteor himself. He struck the montser head-on. It roared as it tumbled back, overloading with energy. Zach landed with his back facing the creature as it collapsed and exploded. He let out a sighof relief.
He turned to see his friends standing there, mouths agape. He wasn't sure what to say, but Kevin beat him to it. "That... was... AWESOME!!!" The others began cheering as well. Zach flipped the switch on the side of the driver and his old self was there, smiling and... slightly blushing? Nobody bothered to tease him about it, they were too happy he was alive.
A new feeling entered him that day. It was a warmth that he hadn't felt before, or at least not ofr a long time. This is what it means to be truly gifted. The true extent of a person, he realized, can be measured by those he called friends.
It was a week later. He had his new motorcycle -which strangely matched his meteor form- and his friends were there waiting, along with his mother Rachel. "Are you sure about this?" she said, with a tear in her eye, "You don't have to do this, you know."
"I know mom," Zach said, giving her a big hug, "but I think I should. I think it's my destiny."
"Well, once you're done with destiny, you come right home to a nice hot meal'"
"I will, thank you." Zach said with a smile. He was getting used to it.
"You take care of yourself." Kevin said clasping his hand.
"Thanks."
The next thing was unexpected, but quite welcome. Rose rushed him and gave him a big hug. "Don't die ok? I won't forgive you if you do."
"I promise." He said, returning the hug. At that, he was off. To where, he didn't know, but it was his fate.
Personality: Since he's been antisocial his entire life, he struggles with interacting with other people. He tends to be blunt and insensitive when he doesn't mean to be.
Likes: Classic music, classic literature, and has a secret obsession with Bruce Lee movies and merchandise.
Dislikes: Loud music, loud people, disorganization
Relationships: Rachel Tsurugi (mother) Rose DeLanoa (girlfriend) Kevin Reed (bestfriend)
Extra: Changed catchphrase to "I will control my own fate"
Has the same abilities as original meteor. Meteor Storm available at game master's say-so
