Hanejiro went back to his planet.
Maybe it was just some guy who looked exactly like him. I mean, that seems to be the only explanation for lots of non-Showa Ultras appearing in the Ultra Galaxy film like Great, Powered, Max, and the Ultras from The Adventure Begins.Yes.
Now all that needs to be done is to reconcile his appearance in Ultra Galaxy Legend with the one in Ultraman Saga. As, apparently, Asuka's was ...
Really? Like the man below says ...
Asuka is ALIVE. :castlerock: :castlerock: :castlerock:
He's not on his way to Heaven with his beloved dead father after being betrayed and cast aside by almost everyone he cared for. :shakefist
He's alive, living a life far more wonderous than imagined. Especially after almost being terrorized into giving up being Dyna ...
And where there's life, there's hope. Hope of an eventual reconcilliation with his former comrades and Humanity. Hope of, eventually, leading a new happy life with people who can accept him - and his powers. Such as Rei found with Captain Hyuuga and the Space Pendragon. Such as, he seemed to have, with Team U and their charges ...
You're right, of course, that Tsuburaya blew the chance to give a much more satisfying ending to Dyna and Asuka with this movie, engaging in what seems to be a last-ditch effort to launch Zero in a stable storyline, while dragging poor Cosmos and Musashi in to be shackeled with the Idiot Ball and Chain ...
However, they are returning to moving in the right direction, according to the latest figures from Box Office Mojo:
Long story short, Saga dropped to ninth place from seventh place in its third week, but is showing in 50 more screens, almost as much as it started with. Its' box office gross has finally dropped the big 51%, but it has made far more than $5 million dollars, closing in on Ultra Galaxy Legend's take.
And, Legend, as you no doubt recall, also had in it a certain former Ultra host, who had gone on to land a fairly successful TV acting career - and an equally successful musician career.
In the meantime, the Ultraman franchise, after a brief moment of shining success, has stumbled and faltered badly, pretty much running on life support as far as TV and movies are concerned.
It's time for Tsuburaya to give Shin Asuka, and Dyna, the happy endings that they deserve. And, for a full reunion with all the SuperGUTS crew, including Mai. Who, as you recall, was the one who really openly mourned Shin's demise at the end of the series ...
Because why should we want the character we love to have a happy ending in Paradise, along side his beloved father, free from the horrors of his and many other worlds, no longer having to fight?
How dare we want him to be in Heaven, happy and content.
Nope. We want him in space, wandering around as a giant blue ball, fighting forever.
Clearly.
Why is it time?
Beyond you being, apparently, a bigger fangirl than I am with UltraSeven.
Beyond it being what YOU want.
Why wasn't Shin getting to reunite with his father in heaven a happy ending for him?
Some people don't get to find peace in this world-let them find it in the next.
But no-no, let's drag him back, kicking and screaming, into a war that never ends.
Hoorah.
You know, speaking of UltraSeven, let's look at his stuff shall we?
Dude's a fighter. He's a warrior-does everything he can to protect the people he loves.
He has suffered more for humanity than any other Ultra, to the point where it has become almost ludicrous.
This is almost certainly why Zero didn't know who his dad was-his dad is never around.
Yep, I'm sure Dyna is looking forward to that life.
... (snip) ...
The series' ending, while was not a happy one, was not such a big disappointment than the movie's ending. Asuka, throughout the series, wanted to know what his father has seen in the light. And well, he experienced it first-hand in the end. The SuperGUTS members also said they are gonna find him.
Movie's ending, if it's what I had interpreted,
[HIDE]seems to me that Asuka just felt lazy to even meet eye-to-eye with his old team members, and simply left after leaving a short message "We will meet again". So are we gonna wait until they are like 80 years old? [/HIDE]
Of course this, ultimately, is not Asuka's fault.
I blame Tsuburaya.
Serious tactical errors? Some series have downbeat endings. Suck it up and deal with it. Let it go.
