Indeed, it's just that you can tell the difference between something that wasn't shot in HD, and something that was.

Like the "vison flashbacks" Daigo saw in Super 8, that were clipped from Mebius' movie, compared to rest of Super 8.

I'd have to re-check the SciFi Japan review of Super 8 to be sure, but it said that Super 8 was shot in HD, rather than on film. Whereas Ultraman Mebius and The UltraBrothers was shot on film. The reviewer pointed out the differences between the two types of movies.

Considering that there are now Blu-ray editions of the original Star Trek series, it does seem possible to make a Blu-ray version of Ultraman Mebius. Whether Tsuburaya thinks it's worthwhile is another thing entirely ...

Prior to The Super 8 Ultra Brothers, the Ultraman films were presumably shot on 35mm film, meaning they have at LEAST twice the resolution of HD and there's no reason TPC couldn't make a Blu-ray release of previous movies. HD has some great picture quality but 35mm film is still better on the whole.
