TV-Nihon's problem about Kabuto DD/YouTube

I think CyberDramon's comment here makes perfect sense. The best way to ensure that files keep being shared is to keep using the same centralized system to share them.

Regarding the re-encoding I can certainly see the problem of multiple versions being shared on the web, some having lesser quality.

Just one thing I wonder about: changing a filename doesn't prohibit sharing it, or does it? (I'm talking from the Winny point of view and not bittorrent/IRC) As long as the CRC remains the same, it shouldn't pose a problem I suppose ... but then again, I'm not an expert in these technical matters :sly:

If it's just a single file, it won't cause a problem with the majority of Bit Torrent clients. However, seeding a multi-file torrent will cause the BT program to assume that file hasn't been downloaded and attempt to re-download it. So in that scenario the file name must be the same as the one the torrent was created with. As for IRC, it must remain the same name for it resume the download properly.

So all in all... Yeah. If you plan on sharing it's best to leave the filenames as they are.

You know what? I'll take your advice for now. Thanks for your advice and next time I'll leave that filenames when I get those.

Thanks, Cyberdramon.
