TV-Nihon's problem about Kabuto DD/YouTube

ForeverRed

has left HJU. Not coming back.
Check this out... I went to TV-Nihon and I noticed the update... read this.

A certain person from a toku "fan" forum on the net has put our kabuto releases up for direct download and on youtube. These were re-encoded and or renamed. Please do not come to us about them. I have recieved about 10 emails alone today asking abou them. All future emails will be filtered and deleted. We do not support the re-naming or re-encoding of our files.

What do you think?

so let me get this straight, tv-nihon doesn't allow any direct downloads to any of their subbed series? because i have uploaded Deka episodes to another forum and someone else has uploaded all of Magi episodes as well. man, what is wrong with tvnihon?:170:

They don't want any re-encoding & renaming of their files, hence someone trying to steal credit for their work.

Err while I think Direct Downloads are part of the problem, it's not really the issue that's being addressed.

It's more of the Re-naming/Re-encoding of thier files that seems to be the problem here.

EDIT: Yeah basically what Kyusaku said. I doubt the actual Sharing of the files is a large part of the problem, but the near stealing of the work is. . .just wrong. If you have a problem with how they Encode the files, then you really shouldn't be uploading thier work encoded differently.

Ok i see. so, if i renamed all of the stuff i get from them, like Deka, Magi, Garo, etc. and i decided to upload them to other forums but give tvnihon credit, is that still a problem?:disappoin

Why do you have to rename the files?

Well some people rename the original Japanese files from Winny into English. ;) Then there are some who just don't want all the extra junk in a file title.

Since I began using Winny, I rarely change the Japanese title since my comp is in Japanese mode. If it was in English mode then I'd have to rename the files. No biggie in my book since regardless if you rename the file or leave it with 32 characters, the CRC will remain the same unless you re-encode it.

Well even in my non-winny days when I watched fansubs, I usually never renamed the file unless the spaces became underscores(classic IRC issue) or the character casing was weird. However I always kept the group initials in the filename. I'm guessing they rename it and remove the group initials from the filename, which is partly why they're annoyed?
