I don't know enough about Ultraman to know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
Tsuburaya was probably the only Toku company that still cared for fans world wide, now if TYO Inc cares for their fans as much as Tsuburaya did, then we are fine....sort of...But really looking at the 40th Ultraman Anniversary, you really see how much Tsuburaya cared for their fans =/. And judging by what TYO Inc has made....we are probably never going to see a good old Ultra series like Max, Mebius, Tiga, or even Seven again :disappoin.
Hearing this really ruined my day :disappoin, meh theres still some hope that it wont end up like how Kamen Rider or Sentai is today.
Although I have some mixed feelings about this news, I don't think the changes will be as severe or radical as one would imagine. The Tsuburaya family is still involved (Kazuo Tsuburaya is one of the board members), for one. For two, this will make Tsuburaya Productions a lot stronger. They may especially be more aggressive in the Chaiyo case. And TYO is not Chaiyo, they are a reputable company in Japan.
It's only fitting that Ultraman Moebius is the last 100% Tsuburaya production, but as long as Tsuburaya doesn't lose its soul in the process (as Toei did, and to an extent, Toho), I will continue to have faith in the company.
To quote Jughead, "Aw, relax, Archie! Re-laaax."
