For all the fan complaints about "not being true to the source material," Revenge of the Fallen is just as loud, incoherent and racially insensitive as an episode of Generation 1.

After all, the original cartoon introduced us to the Republic of CARBOMBYA,

IMO, Michael Bay's Transformers is much better than G1 (if comparisons between a film and a cartoon make any sense). So I don't really care about respecting the source material, I enjoy seeing massive fights for 2 hours:thumbs:

I'm not asking him to follow G1, because like I say I was too young the remember fully, but instead I want to Transformers movie to actually be about the Transformers.

Side note: The clearest thing I remember about the old Transformers cartoon was when Optimus died and Rodimus took over as leader. Is that even considered G1?

Then why have Decepticons. If you want the Military to take care of everything, then... Oh wait that's pretty much what goes on anyway. Yeah there were humans in the older toons. And even the newer toons. HOWEVER.... They were not there to be the primary focus since you know... It's called Transformers.. Not "The humans that are around the Transformers and the things they do"

That I agree with... BUT.... When humans and their guns can take down decepticons with no help from the Autobots... That's just going to far.

One could make an argument that doing Transformers as an Alien Invaders Story but with some of the aliens on Earth's side is not an invalid take on things. Especially when you're trying to market it for an audience beyond those who are already fans and need that greater "in".

Not saying Bay does a great job of it by any stretch, but the initial approach itself is not without merit.

I really don't care what people say about these movies. I don't care if they say it is bad. I will watch a CGI fest of robots killing each other with quality explosions and mind blowing cinematography and I will enjoy it. Really, for both movies I just leave my brains at the door and just enjoy a visual orgasm these movies offer.
