Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, Ep50 - "Eternal Bonds" [Last Ep Spoilers]

I have to admit that I'm surprised that they killed off Masato. Since they said that they'll never do that again. However despite being the 11th Ranger to die, he won't stay dead. Since the afterlife has a revolving door in Sentai.

He's not technically dead, he still exists in some form and even the heroes don't react the way you would expect with a dead character. There must, within the world of the show exist some kind of back-up of his data for him to be able to come back for next year's Vs Special (and/or the V-Cinema - yes, people can go "it's not canon!!11" but kids will expect some kind of explanation as to why he's in it.)

I don't really think Shinkenger Returns set after the finale, didn't they parting after the final battle and meet again in the Goseiger team-up? I think it's non-canon.

I thought it was established it was between the ending and some other point of the series. If not then it was heavily implied.

...go to hell, and take your stupid obsession with J with you. just because he's your favorite doesn't mean he has to be everybody else's, you boisterous oaf.

for me, who payed attention and took in all of the parts of the series instead of fanboying over a single character, Masato was a million times better than J. for what I saw, J's only good qualities were how much he cared for Masato and how much he wanted to protect the forests, but those aspects were barely explored because most of the time he was too busy being a selfish moron

as for Masato, he had some real depth. yes, he was cocky and boastful, but he was also both smart and wise. at first, he had to shoulder how it was most likely that Hiromu and Yoko couldn't save their parents, and so he pushed the three to become stronger. then later, he had the burden of keeping how his body was slowly losing data from the others. on top of that, just by fighting as an avatar, he was risking chances of coming back with every fight. yet despite that, he really contributed a lot, especially in the development of the Buster Machine combinations. he also grew to really care about Hiromu, Ryuji and Yoko, as they came to care about him. this finale really showed how far he had come, with him being willing to sacrifice all data so that the nigh-unstoppable Enter could be defeated once and for all, and had what he had what it took to motivate the others to keep fighting even though when it was all over, he'd be gone.

all that, is why I think Masato is better than J, but I don't go ranting about him every time I talk about Go-Busters, becuase he's not the only important character, so freaking lay off is somebody else likes a character more than your favorite character
I-Is this for real? Dude come down I was joking with her. She knows that. I have better things to do then get upset over people not liking J. Like getting upset over people not liking Go-Busters in general. If our love is every going to blossom you need to take some chill pills.

Descrpition: Don't put Kobayashi in a corner cause she'll kill a ranger.

Descrpition: Now in an unstable Subspace, the Go-Busters prepare to finish things with Enter once and for all while Masato enacts his gambit to remove the Messiah Card from Hiromu and save everyone

Pretty good finale! That last scene with Jin was so sad :(

Pretty gutsy to kill off a ranger, been what? 9 years since they did that?

Oh that's how you write a description?! We were lost for 3 pages without this. Thank you for giving us guidance in this chaotic world!:redface2:

Technically 5, since Toei now counts Rio and Mele as "Bangai Heroes."

I really hate the idea that character death = better show or somehow braver or more realistic than a happy ending. I remember Lynxara saying that the plot with Hiromu's and Yoko's parents seems like an effort to reach out to kids who had lost someone in the earthquake/tsunami and I wonder if the whole Masato thing was the culmination of that; Ryuji hadn't "lost" anyone up to that point since we never see or hear about his family. Gokaiger wouldn't let the heroes wish for their homes and families back and Goseiger wouldn't restore Magis, it seems to be a theme running across the last few series

That's what I figured. There's probably still a piece of Jin left within J and they'll use that to reconstitute him for special occasions…like Gobusters VS Kyoruger for example.

I only have one minor gripe with the final battle scene myself…Enter shouldn't have been able to use Volcanic Attack with the Number 13 card gone.
