i know there was a thread already about ideas for new kamen rider/super sentai item gimmicks, but i want to make this new thread to discuss what items we come up with could mean in terms of motifs and storylines.
i'll start. the gimmick/item is for a Music/Ghost themed Kamen Rider i plan on making some sort of fanfic on. the items are Sound Drops like what you get in gashapons.
but they are modeled after ghosts(like they are flipped upside down and have molding to resemble a ghost face of sorts). the sound they make are similar to DigiMelodies(three note songs with added music at the end for entertainment) and the rider's henshin belt has a tune recognition system in it to track the tune the sound drop is playing.
in storyline purposes, these sound drops are spirits that when their host dies, that human's soul (inside these sound drops) get transported into a ghost realm (similar to the normal realm) where the spirits then become ghost like monsters in the after life realm. the spirits however can transform back into a spirit drop and can possess humans in the other realm through headphones or other audio devices. human spirits that don't past away don't have monster form inside of them yet so when a ghost realm spirit posses a already living being the monster then can be unleashed in the real world. our main rider meets a friendly spirit who gives him a driver to harvest these souls without possessing himself replacing his current soul.
