It's Judgement Time!
I dunno, I think the entire race getting wiped out by Grumm was pretty dark.
Or a Red Ranger finding out his mother and father were murdered by their best friend who is now the main villain of the series. Or how the rangers found out Zenaku was a human by seeing him bleed red blood.
That whole suicide sting winger bomber bit in Lost Galaxy was dark as well, and it even had a villain question his alliance. Or when we find out Frax was once human and was killed by his new master, Ransik. He goes from wanting revenge to learning that there's hope through Nadira and had a fit of true emotion before he's turned into just a robot. And even though he was once human, we see him destroyed, broken down, and falling apart in his final moments, with only one character truly caring for him and understanding him.
Or how about when Toxica, who so desperately wanted to please her new Org master, was convinced, by another duke, to cut off her horn not knowing that it would kill her. She cut off her horn, kidnapped the princess, and was so successful. But her reward was that Mandilok, her new master, didnt give a **** about the fact that she was dying and called her a fool for it. Only Jindrax cared for her. Then, when Toxica was found not to be dead, she was used as a shield against the rangers and killed.
She wasnt killed by the rangers in an epic battle, she wasnt betrayed and destroyed in a dastardly way. She was killed in one of the lowest, darkest moments... She was forcefully dragged from the ground, already dying, and used as a shield. Then tossed away like trash.
I always thoght the darkess Power Ranger storyline ever was the Ransik storyline, a mutant who drew swords for his OWN body and was basicaly a man who expirenced predjudice in the 30th century for how he looks.
Yeah, see, this is why I say Space through to Wild Force are the best seasons of Power Rangers we'll ever have. Because of little story bits like this that have so much human emotion and heart. You could empathize with the villains in certain ways.
Hell, how about the plot line with Titanium ranger? He was given up to a demon by his own father because the father wanted to save him. I thought that was a little dark. The decision to let your son die, or live but with a demon.
The android bit, in context, isnt dark at all. It was the execution that gave it a darker sort of credibility. Because when we saw Mack's reaction, it was believable. You really felt the emotion of knowing your life is a lie.
EDIT: ForeverRed, if you're reading this, just ignore SkyKnight,
Oh no don't do that. You can't tell people to ignore one another over here. :redface2:
I'm just playin. But I agree. Hey, I have strong opinions that change too (magi being the best example of how my opinion can change). Keep rockin, FR.
