That made the waste of the Super Shizuka costume really annoying. What's the point of playing their 'history' up and then not bothering to do an episode on it using the most suitable base footage?

Yup, it's wasted. But I dont consider it "playing it up" because they just casually throw in one little line. But it would have been nice had Mira gotten the little upgrade. Oh well.

So if Mack is an android...what was up with the 'genetic power 'activation footage? I can understand faking it and just turning up his strength (or horsepower as they say in Astroboy hehehe) but why use that 'dna' flash early on?

Well I'm thinking the whole "DNA" sequence is just glitter and flash. It's just special effects. I wouldnt put too much into it, kind of like how rangers are magically in a tunnel or in a barren field when they morph, you know?

Spencer did say he recalibrated it specially for iMack in Kick Into Overdrive II

And Speaking of iMack:

Damn, that was such a good episode. I'll do a full review later, but I thought that was really good. Definitely the best Overdrive has had so far, and definitely the best episode of the Kalish run. Good job.

Kalish's seasons arent without their milestones (even if they are few and far between), but yeah, this one was a rare triumph and amongst the best (and rarest) of quality OO episodes.

...That image is as dark as PR has ever gotten. Who was in charge of Disney when they approved this episode? David Lynch?

I have a right to state my OWN opinion.

You dont have an opinion, as evident by how many times you change it based on your schizophrensic moods.

well as android he's still more emotive then Satoru was.

My .02 on the Dna flash are:

-The decision to make him an android came AFTER they created the DNA abilities.
And/or, the decision to keep the DNA flash for Mack was to mislead the audience and not give them any hints until this episode that Mack was anything but human.

Who's in charge of Disney, now?

I agree that the iMack plotline is the darkest the show has ever been. It's like a less depresing version of Metalder. Which says a lot actually.
