Not sure why I haven't watched these sooner! I'm in the middle of the 2nd one, but wow... I'm QUITE impressed!

The storyline leaves a bit to be desired. The idea is great, but the execution feels a bit flat. The action scenes definitely deliver the goods though.

I dunno, I have to say so far what's got me impressed is the story and how well it's written. The world has structure, everyone works well within their individual motivations, great escalation of plot lines and fun hints toward a bigger world.

Is the 3rd one a continuation or a gorramed prequel?

Prequel/Origin story. Which is why Selene only appears in a scene from Underworld to bookend the film.

The first movie was damn good. The second movie was a mish mash of bullshit. It made no sense and was just a bad movie. The only thing the second movie had going for it was Kate being hot yet again and the action scenes. The third movie was pointless. Everything you needed to know about the past was done in flashbacks in the first movie.

I haven't seen the third movie, but the first two I liked enough to pick them up on DVD.

Good premise, but I agree that the story feels a bit lacking.

Though I do like what they did with the lead werewolf guy (name escapes me at the moment) I liked his actor.

Second movie isn't worth **** IMO.

Also, they were sued by white wolf over this story, though why I don't know. White Wolf does not own the rights to a vampire/werewolf struggle.

Also comeon: One brother was bit by a wolf, and one by a vampire, and THAT'S the origin? Bullshit. I call utter bullshit.

First one is great, second is ok to watch once, and the third can be missed altogether.
