Those chase sequences are exhilarating because you know the actors are really in those cars, flying through the desert at high speeds, and it gives everything a raw, visceral feel.
Another standout is the "Raiders of the Lost Ark" boulder scene. It's a perfect blend of tension and humor, and knowing that massive boulder was actually rolling down a hill adds so much to the excitement. The practical effects truly enhance the immersion, making you feel every bump and scrape alongside Indy.
