The Original Star Wars Trilogy

I want to believe that 80s Lucas was betrayed and murdered by Bizarro!Lucas, who took his place and is doing all this futzing with the franchise. I hate thinking the same man would go this insane. :/

I swear, when I watch these Blu-rays...if these changes aren't as big and bad as some people are crying about I will totally **** myself in laughter. IF they are as bad as some claim then that is fine. I got the original trilogy on VHS still, it's not really a loss for me.

I just don't see how minor changes can "destroy" an entire film. It's not like they edited out Mark Hamill and added Vern Troyer in as a new Luke who finds Han Solo attractive or anything.

Shhhh! Don't give him any ideas.

The 3D Blu-ray release should change more things...

Forever Knight, stop being so egoistic and aggressive for one and learn to listen to your opponent before going "lalala can't hear you shut up and enjoy whatever is being fed to you".

It's little things that make big things happen. In a movie, everything is important. There are all minor changes, major changes and major changes that seem minor in these revisions. Ben Kenobi's cry and ewoks blinking perhaps doesn't matter, regardless of how cheesy that sounds or looks. But replacing entire scenes or actions made in these scenes can, and do dramatically alter pacing and characterization of characters. For examples just read Daikamononashi posts, if you really care about the argument that is and don't just want everyone to shut up and agree with your point of view for no reason whatsoever.

People have explained times and times why they find these alterations diminishing and hurtful to the movies, both in subjective and objective matters, so much that this thread shouldn't even exist, but you not only choose to remain ignorant, you also choose to be arrogant about it. Think twice before you post. That's all.

I like the new krayt roar better than the previous ones. It sounds more vicious, and bigger. AND that it is nearby.

Darth Vaders new No, no. went really well with the scene, so i have no complaints. It gave him more character.

While I agree with you in spirit, FK doesn't have to do any of those things. He has every right to think the special editions are the best there is. He is wrong :anime: but he has a right to think that

I felt it it cheapened the scene, if anything. Vader's silent but obvious internal struggle is so much more powerful and the ambiguity of his thoughts keeps you on the edge of your seat longer, wondering if maybe the Emperor's antics have finally pushed him over the edge or if he's just going to let his son die. Now it's just, "Naw, brah, that's just not koo."

But that's me.

Or maybe you can read my last post, or maybe I'll enjoy these changes?.

All this is to me is like watching hardcore Kamen Rider Kuuga fans cry that some cgi was added during an explosion.

I have no say on the matter right now to be honest as I haven't watched my Blu-ray set yet but will tomorrow and wednesday. I'm expecting changes that will change life as we know it according to you guys and if that doesn't happen... expect me to come here and rip you all a new hole for being such nostalgia sluts.

Dude, I LOVE the originals and the special editions. Is it wrong for someone to love both?. You people make it sound like these special editions changed all 3 fucking films... it didn't.... c'mon man.....

OMG!!! AN EWOK CAN BLINK NOW?!??!?!?!! I'm cutting my mom!1!11
