I liked Tetsuo Kurata back when Black/RX was made. I always wanted to look like him when I was still a teenager, and even got a haircut like his!
Seeing Kurata at 41 makes me feel rather old, but even now, he has everything the Showa Riders have had that the Heisei Riders since 2000 lacked: power and manhood. This still brings a tear to my eye. Kurata looks like he could kick your ass, even out of costume! It's great to see heroes that have not forsaken their manhood.
The newer Riders have little-to-no manhood. They're just girls' emo yaoi fanfic fantasies coupled with ridiculous Metal Hero-ish clunky armor and excessive weapons to sell more toys. (Yeah, that clip from another series was over-the-top, but there you have it.)
And don't get me started on the bishi Amazon. That's just undignified, even for my personal favorite Rider. I'm beginning to really HATE bishi.
