[KouAidou]

... also...correct me if i'm wrong, but is it the only one on the list that's still going? i thiiink all the otherrs have finished right? >_>

Kocchikame is still going, and will probably never die.

[Skiks]

i was only slightly surprised by one piece... other people have already covered similar reasons, but it's because of how new it is. ... also...correct me if i'm wrong, but is it the only one on the list that's still going? i thiiink all the otherrs have finished right? >_>

Jojo is still going on as Steel Ball Run atm

My impression is that most Japanese people regard Naruto and Bleach as disposable trash and find the Western fascination with these shows baffling.

Well Americans are stupid as ****, what'd you expect?

[Vitor]

Granted, I have heard that the recent Bleach chapters are supposed to be terrible.

Agreed, after the Soul Society saga it just got stupid and pointless

I could care less about the Bounts

OH, HO HO HO HO HO HO HO!

[KouAidou]

Aw, we just like stuff that's shiny and new (to us). Is that so wrong?

Besides, Japan is where all America's old fads go to die. They have no right to talk! :shakefist

So Japanese women in their 20's where asked what manga series they would want any boys they would have to read:

#10 - Tie between Kochikame & Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
#8 - Captain Tsubasa
#7 - Fist of the North Star
#6 - Touch
#5 - Black Jack
#4 - Dragonball
#3 - Doraemon
#2 - One Piece
#1 - Slam Dunk

Notice the absence of Top Shonen manga like Naruto, Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist.....

Fist of the North Star though?

Not quite familiar with titles ranked 6-10 but here's what I say about the top 5 titles.

5. Black Jack - Educational considering that Tezuka is a doctor by profession.
4. Dragonball - Weird since I know housewifes hates this kind of violence.
3. Doraemon - Fun, has morals at the end of episode, should have been ranked one.
2. One Piece - This. Is. Surprising.
1. Slam Dunk - I definately agree, this should be ranked 1 since Slam Dunk has a lot of elements that kids must learn while growing up.

You know....when I read this, the voice in the back of my mind said, "When you see it, you'll **** bricks."

Yeah....with manga like Bleach, Naruto, and FMA missing from this list, I'm surprised that One Piece got #2. Maybe I haven't been giving One Piece enough credit, though I have been liking the latest chapters lately (the second manga to make me cry, the first being Konjiki no Gash Bell!!/Zatch Bell).

...You've got Kamen Franchise in your signature. Chill, man.

Thing is as mentioned before One Piece is considered well written. Full Metal is too but it's a bit of a cult hit as mentioned earlier. Aren't the majority of these titles in Jump at some point in time as well?
At the very least all of these are Shonen mangas with the exception of doremon.
