Well, the Jackie Chan X Jet Li movie, The Forbidden Kingdom.
Swords and Sorcery are present there.

To some point, take the "STAR WARS" movies, I know lightsabers may not be swords but they act in the same way when a warrior holds them. Force powers may be something but can be considered sorcery.

While not a fan of seeing Jet Li as the Monkey King at all.... I will definitely second Forbidden Kingdom.

I'm pretty sure it's more of the fact that he's not a fan of movies where white kids fall into ancient asian only to find out that they're the "chosen one" and saves an entire kingdom with his five minutes of martial arts training

I can definitely sympathize with that sentiment. My thing in regards to Forbidden Kingdom... what geek wouldn't wish for something like that to happen? Felt it lived up that fantasy pretty well.... aside from Jet as the Monkey King.

I can see the concept getting a :eyebrow:

But... overall.... it was good stuff. Not great... but good 'nuff. Writer's heart was in the right place too.

Yeah I just thought it was kinda suckish aside from Jackie and Jet's epic encounter. I'm not a fan of movies where lightweight fantasy elements get in the way of good storytelling and I'm not a fan of movies with kids, so it was a double-whammy of "d'oh!" for me.
