Super Sentai should have a alternate universe theme season

*tentatively raises hand* I did?

(also weakly raises hand) ...uh, yeah, me too.

That said... yeah, I think a time-travel sentai would work best. Timeranger 51 and Gao vs. SS gave us glimpses of how rad that would be. I wouldn't even care if it was alternate actors (probably imperative by this point) or even parody AUs.

Can you imagine, say, an alternate-reality Go-Onger? It'd be all post-apocalyptic, and the Gaiarc managed to take over the entire world except for this one last city, or something.

It'd kick ass.

The first problem with this...Decade was very much not awesome. And unlike KR, you don't need the whole cast of each season--just a couple members of each team. Only problem would be getting a Goranger member to return.

Did Hiroshi Miyauchi play Aoranger?

Another problem with the idea of an AU Sentai is that the older shows probably don't even have any monster suits around. Look at Decade. You could pull something like that with Go-onger, but, when you start going back, there's less and less material available.

In Decade, they had very few Showa series suits, even in the movies, reusing some of them several times. They basically only had suits from the 90s movies, the first series, some grunts from V3 and two from Black.

A crossover Sentai would certainly need a new enemy faction or just to remake many old suits for monsters of the day. There wouldn't be enough material to actually show the old villains without making new suits. So, the most likely set up would be a new antagonist faction (with either remade suits or completely new ones) that uses monsters of the week based on the old villains of the previous series.

Apparently (or so I heard), they were gonna bring back some original KR actors for All Riders vs Dai-Shocker.

Except they didn't.

It's just hearsay, though. :redface2:

Goranger's Naoya Makoto (Akaranger) still works, and does a lot of stuff for Toei (and did a cameo in the Abaranger movie), so I'm sure they could get him if they wanted...

He was never screwed over. People thought that they'd be in All Riders because he was part of the advertisement campaign in some tv specials, but he wasn't. Toei went with the cast and voices from Ganbaride for 1,2 and V3. It's not like it was ever promised that he'd be in the movie and then he got his role stolen. People just expected him to be there because he was promoting the movie.
