Square can't leave well enough alone

First of all, I loved Chrono Cross.
The battle system was interesting (if a little rough, but hey, early PS1) and I liked how most of the characters had interesting stories (I said most, I know that a lot where just useless)
Second, a remake is fine, but SE has a habit of remaking the games multiple times, over and over, with few updates.
Now noone hate FF7.
Crisis Core is the reason I could never hate FF7, if you haven't played it, you suck. It was a prequel, and by god itt was fantastic.
And then their is the Valkyrie Profile they released on the PSP, it was great.
FOr every diamond, they have about 20 stones that are slightly sghiny.
A "bad" game doesn't come around too often with SE, it's just that most of teh games are average.
And besides, what if they do what to make a new game for a frnachise.
That franchise is old, so they re-release/remake an older game to gauge interest, and then start making a new game.
I notice they do that.

I can't even count 20 square games that I think are even that great. FF7 was a very boring and badly written game IMO. Crisis Core was an attempt to cash in on the FF7 fame. I had no interest in playing it, but I tried it on a friends psp. The battle system was more than enough to let me know I was right not to play it any longer. When was the last time they remade a game to gauge interest in a new one?

That's not hard at all.

Granted everything is subjective. And that's not even going into the SquareEnix days... hell it's not even going into the PS2 days. Honestly, 20 solid titles from a developer (not published titles, actual developed titles) is a pretty damn big feat for most companies.

I've played about half of those games.

Threads of Fate was another good title. But I doubt anyone here has heard of it.

xenogears is the one game series I'm really hoping they'll remake one of these days.

Now try it with US released titles only :P though I think that takes out 5 I think.

Anyway, it seems Squares new thing is just re doing all their old titles and not making anything new, or really doing anything with the Enix stuff either, which is really a shame, be nice to see some Enix titles.

Would only remove 4, which could easily be replaced.

Square is making DQX... Square has 6 new (as in not remake) games currently in development, one in localization. They are making new games... and they are making Enix IP titles.
