NPCs can make or break a campaign! Whether they're quirky sidekicks, sinister villains, or just the random merchant who sells you the coolest loot, how do you handle non-player characters in your games?
Do you have a go-to technique for bringing NPCs to life, or do you just wing it and hope for the best? I find that giving them distinct voices or traits helps my players remember them; my last bard had a habit of serenading every NPC they met, which turned into some hilarious moments.
On the flip side, have you encountered those GMs who overstuff the world with NPCs, making it hard to keep track of who's who? It can make roleplay feel more like a chore than fun!
What are your thoughts? Do you love developing elaborate backstories for every single NPC, or do you prefer to let players focus on the main quest? Share your best NPC stories, let's talk about the characters that stuck with you for better or worse!
