Spider-Man 4 on 'Indefinite Hold'

The Sony guys should really just lay off Raimi and let him do what he feels is the right thing to do with the movie. It worked out great for the first two movies.

At this point, though, I just want Raimi to start working on Evil Dead 4 before Bruce gets too old to play Ash.

I really did like spider-man 3, I only wish that venom was alive so he later becomes white venom...or bring scorpion on the new movie and then make venom take over scorpion.

or on this new movie, use the vulture and either Lizzard man or Misterio

and also bring black cat along the way

It was all BS

Spider-Man 4 is NOT in Trouble!

This morning, IESB reported a rumor that Spider-Man 4 "has been been placed on indefinite hold."

The site continued by saying that "several department heads working on the SPIDER-M4N production were notified of the halt last Thursday. Spidey and friends have some issues that need to be dealt with before production can move forward once again."

Our studio source tells us this is not true. They are simply on hiatus for the holidays and production will resume in the new year. This is a very common practice on films, and not really surprising.

The fourth installment is scheduled for a release in conventional and IMAX theaters on May 5, 2011.

I always thought we were getting Carnage and The Lizard.

What gave you that idea? Raimi is not touching Carnage with a ten foot pole. This is the guy who had to be forced into using Venom and you think he'll willingly use Carnage? Dream on.

Not only is Carnage popular among youngsters because he "looks cool" and "is brutal", but he's the type of villain that wouldn't fit in with the Lizard. They're both monster like villains. It would probably be like "Oh no, Lizard is on the run! And oh no! Carnage is on the run too!" I want a more complex story than that.

Besides with the Venom movie being made, there's no need for Carnage to appear in a SM movie. I'd much rather see him in that than steal the spotlight from better classic villains. And it will probably be rated-R, so we won't get no crappy toned down version.

The sad thing is that if Sony left Raimi alone and let him do the GG2, Sandman/Vulture story

A) Almost certainly it would have been a better more cohesive movie.

B) The villain for SM4 would have been OBVIOUS and he would have enjoyed more screen time because the GG2 arc would have been completed.

Idiots.
