SPARTACUS: Blood and Sand

Mmmm, beefcake.

Haha. I actually don't watch the show, but I've heard good things. I'm not sure if the good things have to deal with the story or the... well, nakedness and violence.

So this is basically the serialized bastard child of Gladiator and 300 only less creative and probably interesting than both?
Its definitely inspired by 300, a bit more realistic and haven't seent Gladiator in a while but this is nothing like it IIRC just because it takes place in Roman times does not make it a gladiator rip-off, plenty of movies before gladiator had gladiators. But the show is far superior to either of the two movies you mention and I'm a big fan of 300, Gladiator not so much.

Is this the show that gets it's attention due to the fact that Lucy Lawless(Xena), is always getting naked?

I didn't even know she was in it, it took me a few episodes to recognize her. She's only been naked in one episode Ive seen at lest. The show gets attention for being damn awesome.

It'd be easy to write it off as that, but it's juuust about as creative, if not more and as interesting. The show's got real writing talent behind it and takes full advantage of the television format in that we get more involved stories and more characters get to have more depth.

On top of the over the top cheesie factor, it's also well acted and written. Fight choreography is also creative and lots of fun.

Seeing Lucy Lawless naked is a HUUUUUGE bonus.

But yeah, show's fantastic and on Netflix Instant.

This show is amazing. The first two or three episodes were pretty boring IMO but then suddenly **** got real. The season finale was one of the best I've ever seen.

She's naked a lot more than just one ep.

I know production for the second season is on its way, but how would they account for Andy? Maybe they'll focus on the other characters... like a maybe a prequel for Crixus?
