Sonic the Hedgehog 4

Are you getting it? If so, for what console? If not, why not?

Personally, I'll be getting it for 360/iPhone (assuming the fourth console is iPhone)

You know this game is an oddity, it claims a return to the glory days of the 2D Sonic which it is doing yet somehow missing the mark at the same time. The two levels I have seen so far have been rehashes of the Green Hill Zone and the Metropolis Zone, which isn't good. The charm of the old Sonic games were the level designs, even though some were similar at times everyone still managed to have an unique feel to them. I know this probably makes me come off as just another jaded fan, but I do honestly want there to be good Sonic games again and frankly this isn't going to do that.

I don't see anything except bosses being rehashed. I mean really, the "generic" starting level for almost every 2D Sonic game is dirt hills topped with grass. It's not like Green Hill Zone was the first to do it.

The premise for Metropolis Zone isn't exactly new either, there was a stage in Sonic Advance 3, and a few others in other games that were similar to it as well.

But then again, I'm the type of person who likes all Sonic games, and prefer the new ones over the old (save maybe Shadow the Hedgehog, I can't hate a game more than it)

The levels in sonic games were never really all that varied. What made them fun was how you got from one end to the other of a level. If they want to have throw backs to older sonic games levels, good for them. I think this will be a great sonic game. In fact, I think it will be the only good sonic game since Adventure.
