Shuriken Sentai Ninninger (Unleash the Ninja in You!) - TALK UP!

Anyone else notice that Blue has practically no rhythm during the end credit dance sequence. Dude was struggling BAD.

I'm in for this, I think. The characters don't seem as well defined as they were in the ToQger pilot, but they seem likable enough. Was a fan of Kakuranger, and while this isn't going to get as "cat drugs" or whatever it's called, this should be enjoyable.

And I GOTTA see StarNinja and his freakin' cheeseburger device.

I thought it was a great start! Very much the same opening as Shinkenger though... and Takaharu apparently killed those mooks without knowing they weren't humans...

I do admit there was a tad too much info-dump for a first episode, but once the fighting started it charged ahead at full speed and never let out! That Sinobimaru is pretty agile (though it totally shrinks to form the Shurikenjin :p ). Fuuka didn't really get to show off in either battle though, which really bugs me... we'll see how she develops I guess.

That ending dance is hilarious!

I'll try and keep this brief, but two things about this really struck me.
The first is the use of comedy; there are a lot of jokes here, but unlike a lot of (lazy) toku comedy, they avoid the route of forcing the characters on us at the expense of making them unlikable (lookin' at you, Drive) and instead let the jokes come from the situations (like the characters deciding to transform and realizing they forgot their swords), and it's a great breath of fresh air. Teach kids to laugh at actual humor, not because someone makes a funny face. Plus, the idea of a group of ninjas who pride themselves on being unsubtle is just hilarious to me.
The other thing has to do with Shinkenger. Someone said that this feels like a "watered-down" version of that show (and having recently watched the first chunk of that show, there's certainly a case to be made for it), but I like how Ninninger is taking a more upbeat (and, let's face it, less boring and tedious) approach to that premise. There's room for both, certainly.

I think the Shinkenger paralelle is made stronger by that opening music/first fight combo, which is VERY similar to the first fight in Shinkenger. And off course the whole family line thing.

The first episode is Ninninger was pretty damn awesome!! It is by far the best first episode since Gokaiger, maybe even since AbaRanger. It has a cast that seems pretty great and none of them are screaming or whining. The choreography was good. The mecha could be better design wise, but they to did a good job. Shinobimaru is just awesome because of all of the stunts the suit actor can pull off. It had the right mix of comedy and seriousness, which is something I have been wanting to see in a Sentai series for a while. It did also have a lot of vibes from DaiRanger, KakuRanger, GoGoV, Hurricanger, and Shinkenger in there, which is not a bad thing because it felt like it took the strong points of those series. Overall, this was an excellent first episode and I hope Toei can keep this up for 49ish more episodes.

Takaharu is trying too hard to be Daigo part II, not that I hate it. While Yellow was like Seikai during his not-so-likeable start (which means he has room to grow). Yakumo's actor is probably the most awkward actor of the bunch, but he should be able to improve. He comes across as an awkward mix of confident and insecure right now, and it's confusing. And such a nice name. Reminds me of Shura no Toki.

Aside from that, everything else was great. Not unique, but still enjoyable.

EDIT: Oh, and yes, that dancing ending is back! (Not as lively as the old ones, but it fits the mood of the song at least) Takaharu is such an awful dancer lol. At least the girls were so cute in it.

Have you watched any of those shows ? It's not because you have similarities between shows that you feel a vibe.
Kakuranger and Hurricaneger are nothing alike IMO, and Ninninger is something else too.
And I don't know where you see a GoGo V vibe, nonetheless Dairanger.

Like I said, it just felt like a poor remake of Shinkenger first episode BUT I don't even feel the vibe.

I feel that if they could cut short of the zord fight, they could show more storyline and info on the characters.
Also, I think White was enjoying herself during the ending song dance.
She felt really enthusiastic and was smiling really cheerfully.

Dude, Dai and Kaku are my top two favorite Sentai shows. GoGoV is like number 7.

I said they feel like them because:

Shinkenger - Red kicking ass right in the intro and grunts having sword guns.
DaiRanger - Monster being a chainsaw.
KakuRanger - MOTW being Sickle Weasel and that the Yokai were previously defeated by the ninjas.
GoGoV - Family aspect and the mech battle in the first episode.
Hurricanger - The cockiness when it came to, "We don't need to introduce ourselves, but we are going to do it anyway."

And a poor remake to SHinkenger's first episode? This is already superior to Shinkenger (not that it takes much).

BTW, I don't get where the Takaharu/Daigo comparisons are coming from. Daigo might have had a lot of development, especially with his subplot dealing with Kajuka, but he is nothing like Takaharu.
