Toshihide's character (forgot the name) is a bit referencing his role as Gai Yuki in the first few episodes of Jetman, where he's okay to die because he's bored with the world.
There is something weird about the picture. It kinda looks like older Heisei kamen rider.
Allow me to explain myself... Oh wait I can't. It's this somewhat hyper realistic look. Kinda like something you'd see in a documentary or whatever. I think it's either a framerate or something like this.
Maybe somebody who actually understands this stuff kinda gets what I'm saying and can explain it better, or maybe I am just going nuts.
Oh and there's absolutely NO REASON why that character has to be permanently topless!
Combined with silly plush looking alien people (or whatever) this supposed "adult" tokusatsu just seems even more childish than Kamen Rider Gaim, with it's fruits.
I thought viewing the episode would give me a better idea of what this would be about. It sure as hell didn't.
The comedy (last scene with the workout magazine being uncovered by the sand) and the heroine breaking the fourth wall felt so out of place with the rest of it. Now, the next episode looks pretty funny so it might have just been this.
Overall thoughts on the story - not bad. Not complicated, but could turn out to be interesting. Like the girl's side of the story, with her being able to see monsters that no one else can (hilarious ice cream scene).
The Gou stuff wasn't really contextualized well so I'm not sure where that is going. Also the topless chick making sexual noises makes this show more awkward than it needs to be.
Suits and fight scene are cool. Uh... I'll keep watching, see if it sorts itself out any time soon.
Also Gai Yuki is back. No, he's not a new character. He's literally Gai Yuki. That's certainly what it felt like. Found it ridiculous how he
dies in literally not even a minute after he comes out.
