Sell me on Kamen Rider 555

Hey guys.

So I've started watching Kamen Rider 555, and I'm three episodes in, but I'm having a hard time continuing with it. I know that a lot of people here like the series, but it just seems REALLY melodramatic right now. In addition, I don't like the characters too much and the monster fights are anti-climatic.

I'm here in hopes that someone will tell me it gets better, and how it does.

If it helps, I've watched all of Kabuto and OOOs, and liked them both (excluding the last few episodes of Kabuto).

Faiz isn't a regular series in the KR aspect because it doesn't use the name Kamen Rider at all. It's almost like watching a different TV Show over all, because the conception behind it is so advanced and pretty much a hard world to really picture.

It's like the X-Men, except there just happens to be a load of mutants wanting to kill others to make more mutants all over.

Faiz's main plot point is that the belts are there to protect a certain individual in the Orphenoch race. But the irony is that they'll be used to fight against that very cause.

The series itself is more focused on the characters, and how they tie into these little things you see in the series. There really isn't much Den-O comedy there, so I guess if you've seen Kuuga-Ryuki, you'd be fine with the tone.

If you really need some one to "sell you" on watching more, then chances are you won't want to watch more anyway. That said.. Faiz just gets worse and worse. The story falls apart a bit into the series. It has no real ending, and the plot is a mess.

I can appreciate that. Based on what you're saying I likely won't continue it. I guess I just wanted to see if there was something I wasn't taking into account, or if it got better as it went along.

you can either force yourself to finish it like i did or just drop it. it's probably not for you. i didn't like faiz but i stuck with watching it. same with ryuki, blade, and kabuto.
i have not seen kuuga and agito. the rest i've seen and enjoyed

The thing about Faiz is that its kinda like a high tech dystopian version of the first Kamen Rider series. Well its not around cyborgs, but instead these creatures called the Orphenoch , which are like the mutants of X-Men save that its like the mutation that befell Senator Kelly in the first X-Men film.

It's not a stable mutation, and until its solved, the human borns will be subject to death, especially from the use of the Rider technology from Smart Brain, which is this serie's Shocker and the closest thing, IMO , to the concept.

The struggle Takumi faces is not unlike Hongo Takeshi in the original saga, as its about the conflict between humanity and inhumanity within each and every character, Orphenoch and Rider alike ,where they struggle to keep themselves whole without losing what makes them , you know, them. He's the ordinary Joe that just comes into the fray and like his counterpart, chooses to keep his humanity despite his own internal dark monstrosity.

In comparison to the previous Heisei Riders, which were of varying degrees. He has a little bit of Godai and of Ryuki, but differs on the fact that he already has it in him, avoiding spoilers, like Agito.

I like Kuuga better in a sense, but I hope you'll like this as I did.

Faiz is an extremely melodramatic series, so if you are not really into Drama then chances are that you are not going to enjoy it.

Personally i am a sucker for Drama, and Faiz can get quite addictive in that regard, though the story does falls apart towards the end.

My advice? Watch the first 8 episodes, if by then you are still not interested then you should dropp it.
