Samurai Sentai Shinkenger rumor/picture thread

I loved to see Daigoyou have a humanoid form, kinda similar to GoRoader GT. So it wll be Seven Samurais.

ugh, I always hated this rumor or fact or w/e it was. Daigoyo, did nothing to even remotely show he was a samurai, so I wouldn't even assume he was either.

Now if their was some one to be called a 7th samurai (IMO) it would be Jii. He's always had the Shinkenger's backs and showed a couple times, he can come through in combat also.

^ But you guys forget that the premise of the show was that "anyone can be a samurai", hence Daigoyou which was a lantern used by the night-police was made into samurai by the act of having the kanji written in his body, and Genta who was a sushi-seller. Heck, Takeru was just a boy who had great Mojikara, and pretty much Mako, Kotoha, and Kaoru are women who wasn't traditionally accepted as a samurai, yet they showed they had the best perception and thinking among the rest (in the case of Mako and Kaoru that is... Sorry Kotoha). Plus, Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai shows that Kambei eventually accepts Kikuchiyo who was a son of a farmer as one of his "Seven Samurai".

I would love to have her in as well so we can have a proper Seven Samurai tribute (Daigoyou should not be counted in)

Everything about Daigoyou is Kikuchiyo you know. Plus Samurai 7 which was an anime-adaptation of Seven Samurai had a talkative android Kikuchiyo which really looks like Daigoyou.

Speaking of the Seven Samurai / Samurai 7 references...

So Daigouyou pretty much stands for Kikuchiyo, being the only one totally different from the rest (Android in the anime and whacko in the film). Don't forget that in Seven Samura/Samurai 7, there is a silent leader (Kambei-Takeru), a performer (Gorobei-Ryuu), somebody who was inexperienced (Katsushiro-Chiaki), somebody called "Kambei's wife" because of his care of Kambei (Shichiroji-Mako), loved to eat food and a mechanic (Heihachi-Genta), and a silent skilled samurai (Kyuzo)... Which I can't connect to Kotoha...

BTW, I edit this. Heihachi was pretty much Kotoha since they were both unsure about their skills being a samurai, Genta is to Katsushiro since both are the ones that are really inexperienced, and Kyuzo is to Chiaki since both wants to surpass Kambei and Takeru respectively.

I'm not saying that this is the whole premise of the show, but that the same formula works well with any samurai story. So considering this, and Shinkenger's sudden twist that Takeru was a kagemusha, the count still remains 7 with Kaoru and Takeru occupying the same spot.

I guess so, but whether he's supposed to be a 7 Samurai homage or not, I'm sure the main goal for toei/bandai was toy first, then story later..which was lame. I mean sashi, you have the info to back it up, which is great and everything, but I can never look at that poor excuse for a hero as the 7th Shinkenger samurai.

btw I cannot find the rest of the Samurai 7 eps. I've only seen the 1st one or 2, can someone point to a good site where I can watch it, or dl it?

That I agree on. I've also seen it that way since Go-Onger and Kiva actually. I've also theorized that Toei really does design a toy first and write a story around it in the W thread.

Daigoyou really was actually just a fill-in and an attempt to reach the toy-quota, but there is still that small possibility that the writers had a eureka moment when they remembered Seven Samurai / Samurai 7, Yeah it was still not justifiable, but it could have worked! But the bad writing in Daigoyou's almost 0% storyline didn't help. Let's blame the writers on this.

Hmmm... Not really sure since it was a long time ago when it aired, try Tokyotoshokan.

That's what I meant.

We go back two years

Funny, those concept arts remind me... something... we saw 2 years ago. :D

And now we come full circle.

OMG these guys are wearing kimonos!

That sounds fun! I wonder if TVN will sub them...

I'm sure they will. They are nothing but the "DC's" of the first 2 episodes and they sub "DC's" of most of the movies that have come out the past few years. And since they are coming out on DVD it's possible they will come out on Blu-Ray as well, which means HD encodes. :D
