Samurai Sentai Shinkenger rumor/picture thread

NOT an image that should be associated with Takeru :eyebrow: How charming of you to call me "retarded" (I can see the file name) because I said he's not that well developed as a character. If there'd been less filler and the show had got back into his story quicker, it would be different.

@NeonZ - What's your idea of a "leader type?" Go-on Red may not be to everyone's taste but he was a leader and a good one at that.

I should have said "classic" leader type. I mean the one giving orders and keeping the team together. Shinkenred and Boukenred are the only ones really like that in the last few years.

Anyway, although Go-on Red was technically a leader, I don't think he was even supposed to be a good one. Just look at the final arc. He basically gives up after Go-on Black and Green disappear, and Go-on Gold had to make him stand up again - Go-on Gold also was the one who actually had a plan to attempt to bring the others back. In the crossover with Gekiranger, Go-on Red also was about to give up after his partner was taken away.

Go-on Red had enthusiasm and was good at improvisation during battles, but that's it. He was never a good leader and I don't think he was supposed to be one anyway. That's basically the only theme that Go-onger reiterated several times, from the first episode to the last - Perseverance is the only thing a hero needs.

No, that's true  As much as people dislike the hyper DekaRed and GekiRed, neither of them was team leader ...

Ah, bless you, Go-onger. There is no theme too trite or overplayed for you to embrace.

Seriously, this is what every shounen story in the history of ever has been about. Why do you waste an entire Super Sentai season on it?

It is a mystery. (Or Toei wanted to get as close to taking the year off as possible.)

I thought the theme of Go-onger was that litter leads to evil machine people trying rape the planet in over complex fashions. To be fair I stopped watching around episode 12.
