Samurai Sentai Shinkenger: Desperate Strugg;e (Main thread)

That must have been that guy who was making trouble earlier, oh he was going to hate dealing with him, he could tell. He had seen the type before, so damn stuck up that they hated everything that didnt quite fit within their miserable stuck up views usually because they were jealous! They were the types that usually made good villains because no one in their right minds could get along with the bastards. "Listen here jackass." he said after elbowing a nanashi on the neck. "First off you came here for me, you dont like it just write down any and all complaints you have on a piece of paper and shove it up your ass! You know, right next to that tree branch you seem to have lodged up there! Secondly, a real man doesnt need some fancy spinning sword. A real man can do just fine with his own two hands, with sword optional. Refer to my previous statement if you have a problem with it." he told him before emerging from back stage and tossing a nanashi off of it. There seemed to be mostly humor in Keith's words though there was some seriousness to him. So far the others that he had met could live with it, this guy would have to as well, and besides he was getting pissy over nothing! He must have had some serious issues if he got pissed over deciding not to use a sword.

Having witness the Lion Origami taking on its shape Artemis knew that they had truly found the last of the Shiba Clan. Hope anew was restored that all was not lost for them or the future of this world. The question is at what cost? Lady Shiba wanted Keith to live a normal life as possible kept his heritage a guarded secret which Artemis wished that things could have continued for him a bit longer as well if not for the given circumstances. This may or not be shared with the other three vassals Artemis just held a strong passion for life. From the look of things Ayumi had also been impressed as well what Lady Shiba had done, more importantly shared another question. Where was Lady Shiba now?

Unfortunately there was no time to answer Keith’s question or ask about his mother’s whereabouts as their covert mission did not go without notice. Dammit! Why here? Why now?! Artemis thought as the Nanashi started flooding inside. At least they were the only ones inside did not need to worry about innocent bystanders being in harm’s way. Following Ayumi and Keith shortly behind had seen that Tsurugi returned just in time. Artemis had to admit that she was surprised considering his apparent distrust towards their lord, but evermore relieve that he had chosen to come back.

The atmosphere stirred up thickly amongst them quickly by Date’s risen anger towards the Lord. Keith’s fighting method was a bit unorthodox and yet Artemis found it only to add towards his own individuality. It was clear that Keith swordsmanship lack severely in battle simply needed the proper guidance. Watching the two bicker Artemis notice how the Nanashi appeared to be finding pleasure in this crept up towards them. “KEITH-SAMA! DATE-SAN….†Artemis shouted pushing her way through the crowd reaching inside the crevice of her top revealing the Shodophone. “Shinkenger! Ipputsu Shoujou!†writing the romanji for Heaven running towards the two.

In a flash of pink light Artemis wedge herself between them and the Nanashi that dared to take advantage of their squabble. “ShinkenPink!†swiftly withdrawing her Shinkenmaru blocking a Nanashi’s reattempted strike, “This as far you will get to him!†she declared sternly, “Forgive me….†Taking a glance over her shoulder, “We should not be fighting amongst. Lord-sama’s style is different than ourselves Date-san does not mean his heart is not in the right place.†Delivering a strike across the Nanashi’s chest.

“He had made his decision just now! He could have simply turned us away…†following through on the attack, “…yet he did not. This is why…I believe in him regardless and so should you!â Artemis knew that declaration might be reprimanded by the others later on.

Seeing their new leader toss aside his sword really didn't bother Ayumi all that much, as she figured that he wouldn't have much sword training after hearing his answer. What did bother her was that Date was taking the time to actually berate Keith while they were fighting, which she thought was just ludicrous. If you want to berate Tono-sama, Date, wait until the battle is done...do you want the Nanashi to take advantage of you? Seeing Keith almost come to blows with Date caused her to sigh as she kept her focus on the enemies before her.

Thankfully, Artemis was able to get between the two of them and basically say what she was feeling as well. She decided to only chime in with one thing towards Date, in Japanese. "Date-san...is it right to worry about something like this in the middle of a fight? Concentrate on your foes..." During this, she dispatched two more Nanashi with two nice looking, but also aggressive, slashes.

With how that Blue guy, which he would probably refer to as That Douchey Jackass from then on, reacted he was a little concerned that the others would overreact over minor things like that too. Thankfully the girls had proven him wrong when they seemed to take his side on the matter. The one in the pink certainly seemed to have his back and seemed to figured out that it's possible that someone who had never picked up a sword before, especially not a weird fancy one like that, would be able to handle one all that well. And considering the tone that the one in yellow , Ayumi or something like that, had he could at least kind of assume she was telling off the Douchey Jackass, he didnt know a single word of Japanese so he couldnt be all too sure. As for the last guy in the Green, he just had no clue about whatsoever.

Thankfully they were managing to make a pretty good dent into the Nanashi's numbers despite the trouble within the team wearing the blue suit. Even Keith was managing to hold his own albeit through crude yet effective methods such as taking a bartstool an whacking them with it, slamming them into various things like walls and each other, and of course the good old tactic of punching them in the face. The one thing they had on their side right now was that Nanashi were used to dealing with Samurai, the sight of one casting away his own sword managed to sow confusion among them that the team was easily taking advantage of. It wouldnt help them much in future battles but for this moment right here it would do the trick.

Date heard the Gaijin speaking to him and taunting him, but he was to focused with the fight to care about anything anyone was telling him. Date knew what they were looking for but what they found was trash compared to the lord he was meant to serve. Date soon would be fed up with dealing with the weak pest and he would throw Red's Shinkenmaru back at him and he shouted," Use it like one of your baseball bats, I don't care, but if you dare call yourself my Lord I would give my title of a Shinkenger away then to serve you!" Date then spun the disc on his Shinkenmaru and it changed into the Water Arrow.

Date then pulled back the bow and began to launch barrages of arrows towards the Nanashis hitting groups of them at a time. Date had believed becoming a Shinkenger was the most honorable title he could of received, but to see garbage like the Gaijin they had found was given this title it almost made Date hate being a Shinkenger. Date would then look at Artemis and Ayumi and shouted," Please don't tell me you honestly believe this is who we are supposed to serve! Doesn't the fact he is who we were supposed to find make you feel disgraced at all?" Date changed his bow back to its Shinkenmaru form and he then charged in slashing away at the Nanashis as he vented his anger in the form of cuts from his blade.

"Last time I checked all I call myself is my name, you guys are the ones throwing around the fancy terms." he said catching the Shinkenmaru. "That said considering the attitude I dont think you would be missed all that much either. Seriously man you need to lighten up, people that uptight have a tendency to die young." he added. He was just as annoyed with Date as Date was with ,it would be humanly impossible not to be, but rather than bitching about it he was just sucking it up and dealing with it, albeit with a good serving of snarkniness. Try as he might Keith just wasnt used to using a sword, sure he recieved a little training but that was ages ago, no way in hell was it going to just come back to him in an instant. As he clumsily attempted to fight back the horde of Nanashi he knocked one of them into a nearby stereo system, normally use when there wasnt a live band performing, accidentally switching it on causing it to blask Black Sabbath's song Paranoid. As the music blared Keith suddenly found himself concentrating more easily, and with the concentration came some memories of his younger days when his mother had attempted to teach him how to properly fight with one of these things.

Striking in unison with the rhythm of the song, Keith's attacks seemed to become noticably more accurate and effective. Much like a power up in a video game it seemed to just make something click in his mind that was making him just do a hell of alot better with the sword. Though that didnt stop him from throwing in some kicks and punches for good measure. As he continued the disk attach to the hilt of the Shinkenmaru grazed several nanashi, causing it to spin slowly and pick up speed with successive strikes. Before he knew it flames had engulfed the sword, something he found very cool, before it's shape suddenly changed into that of the Rekka Daizantou. There were only two words that Keith felt were appropriate for such a thing "Holy ****!" he said looking down at the massive sword that was now in his hands. As he raised it he couldnt help but think that it felt lighter than it looked. He swung the massive sword wildly, mowing down the nanashi that were crowding around him.

Finally it seemed that they had fought them off as there werent anymore jumping out and attacking them. Now that it was over Keith found himself using the Rekka Daizantou to prop himself up as he caught his breath. "I think it's safe to say, there is alot my mother never told me about."

Having defeated the Nanashi running about outside the bar, Tsurugi, still in his ShinkenGreen armor, looked to the entrance of the bar. "Haa...I hope they're still all right," he sighed with exhaustion. Gripping the Wood Spear tightly, he rushed into the bar, and upon entry, saw his fellow Shinkengers, as well as the Gaijin-turned-ShinkenRed -- standing by. He then rushed over to ShinkenYellow. "So sorry. I got held up by freak'n Nanashi outside," he griped, looking over to ShinkenRed.

He's still got a ways to go before I can ever consider him worthy of being my Lord, Tsurugi concluded inwardly, observing Keith prop himself up with the Rekka Daizantou.

After the battle, Ayumi saw Tsurugi approach her and replied to him in Japanese. "It's all right, Tsurugi-san...you at least defeated the Nanashi where you fought." Artemis, meanwhile, went over to Keith and spoke to him as well. "Well...even so, if you need any help with sword training, I am sure me or Ayumi-san would be glad to help you..." Ayumi heard this and looked over at the two of them. Me, teach someone else? Well...I am better at using a Shinkenmaru then him, but...I've never trained someone before... Despite these thoughts, she spoke her own mind about this. "I...will try my best if you do ask me Tono...er...Keith-sama..." She considered it odd to call Keith by his first name, as she still stuck the -sama suffix at the end out of force of habit.

Date stood in front of Keith with his Shinkenmaru in his holster, and he just said," Listen I think it will be better if I be a real man of honor before I speak my mind." Date left his Shinkenger form and he glared at the Gaijin with a face of discontent and anger and he then just spoke," I know the others might be happy that we've found you, but there opinion are their own. All my life I have trained for this day to gain this title of becoming a Shinkenger, and to be given such a great honor made me feel like I had to carry the world through this war. Though to see that someone like you who has no training what so ever for this moment can just be handed the title of are leader." Date clenched his fist and then shouted at Keith," Makes a honorable and well trained samurai as myself seem like garbage! You listen here you garbage if you believe you can lead this group well great, but you listen to me I serve you only because that is my job title.............but just because someone must serve another does not mean they must give a damn about them."

Date then turned to the rest of the group and spoke in Japanese," If you really want him to learn anything I'd gladly train him, and maybe after I cut him to pieces he might make a passable leader. I'm going to wait outside, and when you are all done congratulating this scum who didn't work to earn this title and was just born well I'll be waiting." Date left the establishment and looked down at his shodophone and said to himself," All my life I've worked for this title, but that foreign bastard did nothing to become our leader!" Date punched the brick wall of the establishment as hard as he could in anger as tears ran down his face.

Having listened to Date's passionate speech directed to Keith, as well as to the rest of the group, Tsurugi merely nodded in agreement as he observed Date exit the establishment. He then stepped forward and spoke up. "I am in agreement with my companion there. I do not think that you are worthy of being a Samurai, let alone being our Lord, even if you are of the same bloodline," he told Keith in English, which had an accent to it. Still holding on to his weapon, which reverted back to the Shinkenmaru once more, he pointed the tip towards Keith. "If you are truly serious about being a Samurai, lose the attitude, and I will train you to the best of my ability, just as the previous Lord did with us. If not, then go back to the guitar, because I will take your Shodophone back by force," he added, a stinging tone evident in his voice.

Having said his piece to Keith, he put away his Shinkenmaru and exited the building, cancelling out of the ShinkenGreen suit as he spots Date by the wall of the establishment, crying hard from the shame. Letting out a sigh, Tsurugi pulled out a five dollar bill from his pocket and approached Date. "There's a Burger King nearby. You should eat," he said, offering the five dollar bill to his fellow Shinkenger.
