Samurai Sentai Shinkenger: Desperate Strugg;e (Main thread)

"Leave my Lord alone!" Ayumi allowed her Shinkenmaru to assume it's normal form again before using her Saru disk and spun it. "Earth Character Slash!" Slashing in the form of the character of Earth, she directed this at the Ayakashi, though 3 Nanashi were caught in the onslaught as well. The Nanashi were immediately felled, but the Ayakashi was more resilient and merely took damage. His attention turned to Ayumi for a moment, he sent another insult her way to drive her back. "You good for nothing punk!"

"Nnk...!" Hit by this insult as well, Ayumi was thrown back a ways, but wasn't slammed into a wall this time, though she rolled across the ground. She once again struggled to her feet, though it took her longer to do so this time. Tch...I...I have to prove that I'm not any of those things...!

Gripping her gloved fingers more tightly around the shinkenmaru hilt stared aimlessly at Zuboshimashi as the others engaged in battle. Artemis focus was not on the insulting commanding officer rather at herself. Zuboshimashi preyed on each of their insecurities like an annoying mosquito and yet oddly it made the voluptuous think a little. There was no point denying that despite the years training alongside with the others still had room to grow and improve did not mean she was weak. A faint smile grace Artemis’s face revealing her secret disc, “Live and Learn†The pink clad samurai said more confident, “Maybe in your eyes find me to be weak shall open your eyes that I’m far from that.â€

Sliding the black secret disc onto the Shinkenmaru Artemis gave it a spun. The Shinkenmaru takes on the form of her personal weapon that resembles a Japanese war fan, “Heaven Fan†drawing the fan close for a moment, “You’ve done enough! I will not tolerate…nor forgive anyone who dares wish or do our lord harm…I will show you who is truly weak!!!!†her voice raised unleashing pink colored winds.

The Shinkengers werent faring well at all, that much was obvious to any that were watching. Their new leader, the last shiba was barely concious and could barely move because of the sheer amount of pain coursing through his body, and his teammates were all fallng prey to the Ayakashi's attacks. Zuboshimeshi simpl flung his Nanashi minions into the path of the attacks launched toward him by the others, sure they would be dealt with soon enough, but they werent his target after all. The red guy who was barely twitching, that was his target. "Gimme that! I want this to look good!" he said taking a sword from the nearest nanashi, he would have used ShinkenRed's sword but that thing proved to be too small for him to hold onto that well. "Say goodnight loser! You were way weaker than the last one!" he said as he prepared to strike. Suddenly his arm stopped, beginning to lose color. "No! Not now dammit!" his movements became stiff and sluggish. "Right in my big moment...ah hell I beat ya down once I can do it again!" it appeared that in a stroke of luck the Ayakashi's body had dried out in all the excitement, forcing him to retreat for now. Soon the nanashi followed as they tended to do when those leading them retreated. The Gedoushu were gone but it was hardly a victory for the Shinkenger. What had once been a day of hope was quickly tarnished by the Gedoushu's plan to lure out and eliminate the new Shinkenred, with the only saving grace being that he wasnt dead yet.

Wasting no time the Kuroko swooped in, taking the unconcious ShinkenRed back to the estate while helping along the other Shinkengers if they needed. Chances are Keith would be suffering from lasting injuries that would forever cripple his abilities to serve his purpose as ShinkenRed, but thanks to several restorative mojikara he would be fine.

It was hours before he woke up, he found himself in the room that Ayumi had pointed out to him earlier, his stuff piled up in the corner still due to him not having the opportunity to properly unpack earlier. His injuries were handled but he was still sore as hell, and exhausted. all things considered though this was still better than what he had thought, he was just glad he wasnt dead right now.

Ayumi was bandaged up from the injuries she took during the battle, but it was nothing serious. What hurt her more was the fact that she couldn't protect her new Lord from getting hurt. I wasn't strong enough...I need to...need to rectify this somehow... Getting up from the main room where she was waiting, she knew that her Lord was in the room she showed him earlier. She headed over there, but didn't go inside.

What she did instead was just sit outside of her Lord's room, almost as if she was some silent guard of some sort. She didn't feel like she could show her face to her Lord, but she wanted to feel like she was useful in some way.

Like the rest of Shinkenger, Tsurugi was wrapped heavily in gauze and bandages due to the injuries he sustained in the battle. However, unlike Ayumi, Tsurugi was so beat up that he could only remain lying on the mat, unable to move a single muscle. Crap...Every part of me hurts bad. Even my hair hurts.... he thought, his eyes trained upon the ceiling as he tried to take his mind off of the pain by watching pieces of dust float by. Forcing himself to move his head in order to look at the door, Tsurugi let out a gasp. Gah...as much as I don't like him, I hope our new Lord is okay. He took quite a beating back there... He told himself inwardly, hissing some as pain shot through his body.

“Mind if I join you?†Artemis asked before taking a seat down beside her friend running one hand along the freshly tighten bandages. The voluptuous pink-haired young woman did not even need to ask what was weighing on her mind for it was the very same. Echoing reminiscing words of their enemy clung deeply than any blade could ever possibly cut felt detach wondering if it was true. Looking at the palm of her hand opening and closing it few times cringed before taking a deep breath.

Catching glimpse of Ayumi felt that she should try to say something break the tension held none. “Ayumi….Do you….Do you think what that creature said was true….I mean…I know that words are not supposed to have power over us, but….†Shaking her head pulled at the bandages annoyed mainly at herself.

"Oh, Artemis-san..." Ayumi didn't object to Artemis sitting next to her, since she didn't mind the other woman's company right now. Hearing the question that Artemis posed, she sighed. "That Ayakashi...his whole power stems from insults that he can make about us, usually ones that do ring true at some point in our lives..." She looked away slightly.

"I...guess we can defeat him if we just try to ignore what he says, but that is risky, since we could still be flung back regardless." That was Ayumi's take on things, but she didn't know if she hit the mark any or not. "All I know is that I want to try harder next time...I...don't want him to hurt the Lord like he did this time."

Date would fall to the ground after the attack on the Ayakashi failed due to it's powers to manipulate them with insults. Date would hardly be able to stand until it was to late and their lord had been defeated. After the Ayakashi had retreated, it didn't feel like they were the victors but the team was just lucky. After getting back to the estate Date would have his wounds treated and just looking at himself in the mirror caused him to think back at what the Ayakashi had said," Worthless?! A Rich weakling?! What does this beast know about me?! It can't be the truth...if I was so weak then how can I wield this power? And my blade? Damn monster retreated cause he already knew we were defeated, physically and mentally...how can we face something that makes us doubt ourselves?!" Date wanted to dwell more on the words of the Ayakashi, but there was something much more important to do.

Date headed to Keith's chambers and he would see Artemis and Ayumi waiting outside his door, Date would sit down in front of them on the other side of the hallway and after listening to what they had to say he joined in," It does make sense that they are true comments, I have always been rich and I was once weak. Even if what he says is true, it's whether we accept the words as a truth or lie." Date would get up and then walk into Keith's chambers, shutting the door behind him as he saw their lord resting in bed.

Date would lean against Keith's dresser and look at him as he laid in bed, beginning his speech," So I guess you can understand now why we want you to have some training, so you don't just swing your blade around. Even though we were defeated, at least you are alive Shiba-sama, but I'm not here to belittle or taunt you." Date would begin to look back on the past as tears ran down his eyes," You see our old lord was a man named Shiba Ryoma, and compared to you Keith-sama and even myself his skills were beyond belief. Though even with his immense strength the Gedousho unleashed a large scale attack on the Shiba clan, wiping out every member, and up against large forces of Ayakashi they slayed our Lord Ryoma. Now you know it as much as I do, but they are just testing the waters with you Keith, the Gedousho just were testing all of us today, and the next time they attack they're going to know how weak we are and just finish us off in a one blow. You can't rely on our strength to carry you, because it isn't anything compared to the strength hidden within you. Now look I'm not trying to sound two faced, because I still can't say you have the same respect Ryoma had from me, but if what that Ayakashi said to me today was true then yes I am a weakling. You see our strength comes from our unity, and if I'm not willing to respect you and accept you as our new lord then that unity is fragile and can be shattered like glass."

Date would turn around and begin heading towards the door, before turning and looking back at Keith," Once our wounds heal I want to begin your training, and also begin to build a bridge with our new Lord." Date would walk out of the room and look down at his teammates before wiping his tears away and speaking," Well he's awake if you guys want to speak with him, I think I'm going to actually rest for once." Date would then head off to his chambers to get some rest.

Artemis stared at her friend solemnly in a share agreement wanting no further harm to fall onto Keith. It had been Keith’s decision freely felt horrible still what they had done taking their Lord away from everything that he had come to known growing up in the United States. The task laid out in front to them seem nearly impossible as the Akayashi power preyed on each of their insecurities viciously Artemis did not want to give into them. No matter how much things might seem impossible if one took just even a moment of their time they’ll find a way to overcome the obstacle.

Fidgeting the knot on her bandaged barely notice Date’s presence at first listened inattentively taking into account what their comrade said. “That may be….†Artemis lifted her head a little too late to stop him from entering Keith’s room held her breath hoping that Date would use some restraint than place any fault onto their Lord. This wasn’t Keith’s fault. If not for her body feeling the rippling aftershock of the demon’s assault stormed in after to prevent Date doing something that would lead to Keith deciding to leave them face the threat alone. Best not add oil onto the fire trust in Date to look past things for the sake fulfilling their duties to defeat the Gedousho. The next few minutes felt like hours trying to listen on the conversation within until finally he had exited.

Still bandaged up due to the wounds he incurred from the battle with the Ayakashi, Tsurugi stumbled along the wooden floors of the Shiba mansion with the aid of a walking stick, a pained expression on his face as he tried to make his way to the bathroom. Along the way, however, he spotted Ayumi and Artemis sitting in front of the door leading Keith's room. Seeing Date walk away, Tsurugi hobbled toward the two girls.

"Listen...what the Ayakashi said...it's all true. You remember how unskilled and inexperienced I was before, when it was Lord Ryoma leading us. I brushed off training, believing I can win simply by having the Shinkenmaru in my hand. I realized how wrong I was when the Gedoushu started to pull out the stops. I mean...if it weren't for my own bullheadedness, I would have been able to protect our Lord better," he told the two girls, deciding to step to their side of the hallway to ensure that others could pass through.
