Sam Worthington: Like or Dislike?

Lustful Butchery

Throwing Some Justice!
I don't understand why this guy is getting cast in big films & why fans keep praising him, thinking he's a good actor. Not to mention, they keep suggesting him for Batman, Captain America, Green Lantern, or any other superhero in gerenal. Hell, they want him cast in everything. To me, he's not a good actor, but he's not a terrible actor, he just hasn't show me any promise, since his performance in COTT was very wooden to me. Not to mention, he can't even utilize a damn good American accent that whatever film he does requires it. I'm not saying I hate the guy, it's just his popuarlity that sickens me. I'm always open for improvment & hopefully he'll show that in future films, but right now, I'm thinking of the guy to be the Keanu Reeves of this generation. My advice, I think he should try Indie Cinema which could help, but that's just me.

Hollywood always has to have its bland, personality-free "It Guy", I guess. Personally I'm never very happy when that guy is a bland, scruffy-looking dude with a permanent crew cut, but I guess the pendulum swings back and forth...

I agree that he'll probably eventually sink or swim in Indie cinema. I didn't like it when it was George Clooney was the "It Guy" either, but he really proved himself in O Brother Whereart Thou, and now he's one of my favorite actors.

I guess it's just like how Twilight fans gets the story to be best seller. Popularity.

I thought he was good in Terminator Salvation and Avatar though, but I don't really see him as Perseus in Clash of Titans.
