Sam Raimi to Direct the Next Wizard of Oz

So it won't be based on any of the books? That should be interesting, I know the popular movie is just one big ol' mix of aspects from various Oz books, so I always thought it'd be neat to see the story told properly.

I was hoping it'd be based on the books. I thought the Wizard of Oz graphic novel was one of Marvel's most worthwhile titles! It had a pretty sweet look to it, close to what the books were always like. (Considering that Marvel is now with Disney, that's kinda' ironic!)

As for Sam Raimi directing, I really don't know what to say.

Whether it'll be good or bad, I'll bet this movie will get savaged for not being anything like the 1939 movie.

Not really. Just noting that Marvel did a Wizard of Oz comic. It looks movie-worthy!

I absolutely loved the Marvel Oz. I'm generally a fan of art like that and thought it would make for a great style to an animated movie.
