[Anime] Saint Seiya Omega - Talk Up!

The Sailor Moon anime seems pretty high profile for a 6:30 AM airing, and it's supposed to air in the summer. I think Omega's probably going to run for at least 65 episodes.

Episode descriptions of 41-43 (scanned from an article). At the rate they are hurrying through the Sanctuary it doesn't seem they are getting an extension.

41: Tokisada’s Ambition! The Ruler of the Confines of Time!

Haruto and Ryuho are sent by Tokisada of Aquarius to a different dimension set in the very end of time. They are forced to fight against a Tokisada whose abilities have become much stronger. Meanwhile, Kouga and Yuna arrive to the Sagittarius Temple, which is deserted due to Seiya’s absence.

42: The Traitor Gold Saint! Ionia vs Kouga!

Kouga and Yuna pass through the Sagittarius Temple and head towards Capricorn. At that place they meet the former Director of the Palaestra and the Capricorn Gold Saint, Ionia. Kouga is unable to control his anger against the Gold Saint that betrayed Saori and put himself at the service of Mars.

43: The Revival of the Gods of War! Rush Towars the Final Temple!

The group has finally reached the end of the Twelve Houses, the Pisces Temple. However, as the attacked by Amour, the Pisces Gold Saint Kouga is captured by the Four Heavenly Kings, the strongest warriors at the service of Mars who are able to fight at the same level as Seiya and the Legendary Saints.

Well, or the extension would just tell a different storyline. That said, "we'll do more Saint Seiya but not necessarily SSO" also makes a lot of sense.

Sailor Moon isn't getting anything until the late 2013. The newest reprint of the manga has obi with "New anime 2013 Summer reveal" on it so it's not even starting by then.

There were some early rumors that there was going to be another villain after Mars. However only about half of the rumors from the batch turned out true, several of them were proven false.

Galaxian, the movie director was going to make a completely new series. And that's not a rumour, but the wish he had ^^

I regard everything as a rumor until we have an official announcement. And even then it is suspect if Toei is involve.

It's only the ones that had the second villain that turned out to be false. All the others such as what happened to Shun/Shiryu/Hyoga or the stuff with Mars turned out to be uncannily accurate.

The Hyoga rumor was that he was frozen, which was proven false. It said that Ikki would act as mentor for Kouga and the Bronze Saints, that didn't happen. That Yuna was also Mars' daughter, which it's false. And also the episode breakdown had the episode numbers almost completely wrong after ep7.

The rumor regarding a new villain Galaxian mentioned is from the series plan leak that appeared before the show had even started, not the interview with the movie director.

It does seem to be a real leak, considering how it guessed correctly things from months later, but it also doesn't seem to be a definitive guideline for the series.

Episode breakdowns start not matching up at all after the first two months, Yuna's backstory is completely different (she seems to pretty much have Eden's backstory there, being Mars' daughter and Aria's sister) and the longer the series went after that the more differences between that write up and the actual series have appeared, like Hyoga's state and no sixth (seventh?) Ranger Seiya (the supposed outline described Seiya as the second main character, with him returning as a sixth Ranger-like character around episode 17 - the Gold Saint and Mars final battle would take from 18 to 39 according to that outline. In that outline, the ruins arc went from 9 to 16, and there were seven of them, rather than six).

In spite of the heavy change of the later details ,I can still see a new villain at this point though, especially considering how the meteor still hasn't been addressed by anyone at all in the series. The original outline said that the Lucifer arc would go from 42 to 52, so it was always planned to be shorter. Even if he ends up appearing just in the last two or three episodes, I think he's still a possibility.

If there's an extension beyond 52 episodes though, that'd just make things better. In fact, maybe an extension could explain the lack of usage of Seiya and the other legendary Saints? If they know for sure they're getting more than this one year focused on Mars they might keep Seiya's return to front lines to launch Omega's second year or final phase.
