[Anime] Saint Seiya Omega - Talk Up!

So what's the verdict so far; good or bad? Really want to jump into this knowing it's gonna be a great ride, but I can't get past the necklace holding the armor. Is that even a thing, or did I misread something?

A lot of long time fans were impressed by the first episode. The biggest complaint going around (beside the typical fanboy ranting) is that the art style is too stylized, but personally it doesn't bother me in the least.

And yes, the cloth are held in gems now (called clothstones), no reason has be given for this. That is my one of my one complaint about Omega, other than that the first episode was really good.

So is The Lost Canvas done? I heard it ended on a cliffhanger but that it's from a different production company so a third season might still happen. Haven't really checked it out since I wanted to wait until it finished but if it's done for might as well watch it now.

The official word on the Lost Canvas anime is that it is put on hold, supposedly for low DVD sales. TMS, the studio that made Lost Canvas, is now making Zetman, but if Omega does well then maybe they'll go back to LC afterwards.

So what is Omega using as continuity exactly? All the original series up to the Hades saga happened?

All the Toei animated works are in continuity with Omega - So, no Lost Canvas because it wasn't a Toei anime, but Next Dimension also doesn't count because it hasn't been animated.

One thing I wish they would keep from Lost Canvas is the idea that all Taurus Saints take on the name Aldebaran, I thought that was a nifty idea. They also have a tendency to die while standing up

All in all, episode 2 was a step down from the first one.

That said, I kind of like Souma, his cheerful attitude is someone that no other Saint Seiya main cast has ever really had (the closest one would be Seiya during the earlier episodes). Unfortunately, Souma's attack was very underwhelming.

I'm glad that the Martians (supposedly the name for Mars' underlings :redface2 at least look better than their master.

So it looks like Souma is the counter part of Ikki in terms of power.
Too bad his finisher was terrible.

Overall a boring episode.
Hopefully next week isn't as uneventful.

If those episode summaries are true, it looks like Kouga will carry on Seiya's torch even more by defeating the Dragon Saint in a tournament just like in the original. I wonder how much the fight will be different this time around?
