It totally reminds me of the Tokyo Dogs soundtrack. Ah, dammit, I need to watch City Hunter. I mean, my mother marathoned it before I did! O_O

Ah yes..........Netflix is great at helping you get thru that process

The only thing I will warn you about City Hunter is, you will develop a post-dramatic syndrome after watching this drama.

The symptoms of this "syndrome" is basically that you will always be reminded of City Hunter whenever you go out in public or hang out with anyone or read anything that has the term "NA NA" in it.

When you watch City Hunter, you will know why "NA NA" will become ingrained into your brain during your everyday life from that point forward after watching the show lol

I'm debating whether or not to only bring in action KDramas because I heard City Hunter was really good and I heard Bridal Mask was really good~

Thoughts? Suggestions?

-Strawberry Night, 11 Nin mo Iru!, Kaseifu no Mita off the most recent ones.

Think u pretty much have the the toku ones.

And the kdrama I would only recommend is Reply 1997. The only show that never pissed me off and I thoroughly enjoyed.

I have all of City Hunter HD downloaded and fansubbed (which is how my mother watched it. Seriously. Totally KDrama owned by my mom~ O_O).

Check, check, and check! I'll put those on my list to watch and see if I can review them with Blade. Can you get them from Daddicts? or is there a dedicated fansubber for them?

You know, the only KDrama I've ever watched was Dream High. I'm actually really, REALLY tenative (I probably spelled that wrong) about getting into KDramas just because I simply cannot stand melodramatic storylines and acting.

That's what my brain use to refer to "NANA" as too (although I watched the 2 live action movies instead of the mangas and anime, I couldn't take the 1st ep of the anime........too much "drama" for me in an anime).

Now I'm reminded of Lee Minho uttering those words in City Hunter, every time.........every time (you'll understand why after the first 5 episodes of City Hunter)

I like it but, the start of NANA's anime is weird...
- The manga starts with the flashbacks in volume 1 and the train stuff is volume 2.
- The anime starts with the train stuff, goes to the flashbacks then, episode 6 does the train stuff in the right spot with the scenes they didn't get to yet.

Actually, between my best friend and I, we made the agreement that I am clearly punk-rock Nana, not Hachi, for sheer fashion sense and personality.

NANA is actually one of the few shoujo animes and manga with typical "drama" that I was so into the style, music, and character personalities that I overlooked it. Like, "okay, I can suspend my belief enough to sit back and watch this, because these characters are just that cool to me~".

I kinda love the live action one, except I'm a little sad that they swapped Hachi in the second one. I kinda loved Aoi in the first one.

*sigh* I think I just have to do what I did with GARO, take a deep breath and set aside a weekend to crack into City Hunter then it'll just take its course and make me marathon and finish it.

I did it with Kamen Rider Blade, but I'm having a hard time getting through it. I need to set aside another weekend to get through episodes 5-10, then maybe it'll pick up for me to want to marathon it.

The same way I watch half my shows if not more. I don't know if I could watch a live action Japanese TV show if it didn't have people in rubber suits...I don't think I've ever tried.

when you're marathon'ing thru every episode of City Hunter, I want you to take a shot for every time you hear "Na Na" or "Kim Na Na" is mentioned by Lee Minho's character.

If you reach around 8-9 shots by around episode 4 (or even before it), you will know what I'm talking about

And if you don't wanna get drunk doing this challenge, you can do this challenge with a "non-alcoholic beverage" too :laugh:

You know, that's what I thought too. I really think it just takes that one "*shrugs* I guess I'll give this a chance" drama that'll expand your horizons. I really think people need to read and watch things broadly and with an open mind. Makes for a quite enriching experience. :anime:
