Riders with or without weapons?

I don't mind weapons but I want riders these days to fight like these guys:

Which is quite a shame because Kamen Rider Black is one of my favorite KR series.

Kiva right now is honestly a cluster F*** to tell the truth I hate that freaking sword & form ... I prefer the monsters but for all the work they did on them they hardly ever used them! Annoying!

I....ahem, agree with Synch. especially the overused emperor form. But the rest of the forms are still pretty cool in my book.

I think one reason why nowadays the riders are less reliant on physical fighting like punches and kicks..exp, Den-O I think becos the main characters themselves are meek and wimpy compared with the more heroic Showa and pre Kabuto predecessors?

I would prefer if a Kamen Rider uses his own strength or martial art to defeat a kaijin and instead of solely hiding behind some weapon. The weapon is there to help... but not as a "shield"

Hopefully we'll get a big Rider vs. Baddie rumble like that in Decade. Maybe in the movie, at least. Like, the 10 Riders throwing down on a bunch of monsters at once. They could do it and they could make it really cool. This will be the best chance in a while so I hope they take it.

Depends on the weapon, if it is a sword that isn't outrageously stupid, then I like for them to use a sword, or maybe even a lance, but guns & other stuff...nahh.

I like it both ways. The only thing that turns it off for me is if there are too many weapons.

I'm just gonna go out and say I prefer weaponry over fisticuffs in tokusatsu in general, and that includes KR. i'm not saying that I completely prefer weapons, but I do dislike their absence somewhat, which is why i'm not a fan of series such as the Ultra series

Depends on the weapons. I usually like things in the realm of actual weapons like swords, staffs, blasters, even something that is built to augment kick or punch power.

If it's like a trumpet or a fishing rod or some other aggressively blatant Bandai bullshit then not so much. It's all fantasy of course and I'm absolutely more than willing to play along with a lot of things but some stuff is just dumb.

That's what I have been saying.

I do have to say though, if the weapon is actually important to the plot/character (Kuuga is the biggest example) and it isn't overused, than I'm totally fine with it.

And I must say, Kamen Riders are usually famous for their Rider Kicks.
