Well weapons in general within a Tokusatsu series kinda.... well are just a bit strange.
Anyway, I'd perfer the raw beat downs rather than weapon combat. I watch Toku for the stunts, the martial arts, and the special effects, not no marketable weapon!
I like hand to hand combat in general, so as long as they are melee weapons I'm satisfied but idealy I like a mix of both for the variety. A hand to hand Rider pulling a sword or something out when needed.
I like a mix, although I think weapons should always be an option, with basic hand-to-hand being the default.
In terms of weapons, swords, guns & all that are cool, but the stuff I really like are the more unusual kinds- Riderman's attachment arms, ZX's weaponry, and of course, Ridol. And I love when the Riders steal weapons off the bad guys.
I don't mind weapons but I want riders these days to fight like these guys:

... I ... like ... .... BOTH! How ever a rider who rarely uses one would be very skilled indeed ... as per kabuto example I liked how kabuto would at first see how far he could take his skill level/ get in certain points with out using one or even if he was using he would use said one tilll he knew he needed something better
Kiva right now is honestly a cluster F*** to tell the truth I hate that freaking sword & form ... I prefer the monsters but for all the work they did on them they hardly ever used them! Annoying!
